Palmetto Auto Service

I had two encounters with this auto shop, the first one over a month ago and second one more recently. The first time , the owner Robert gave me a quote for the repair on my car which seemed reasonable but when the bill came, he had increased the charge close to $300 saying that it took them longer than expected to fix the problem ( keep in mind that they fixed the same issue which they had quoted for, they did not do anything extra). I paid as I did not seem to have a choice. The second time I took my car there, I was more careful so when he quoted me a charge of $792 for repair , I asked around and found out that a reputable mechanic shop , not far from this shop, would do the same work for less than half the price. I told Robert that and suggested that we find a middle ground but Robert adamantly refused and once I decided to get my car towed to the other mechanic shop, Robert refused to release the car demanding $125 plus 3% credit card fee for diagnostic charge which he never had mentioned before. I had to pay that to move the car from there. So folks, this auto shop is run by a thug so I would suggest that you stay away. Service: General repairs & maintenance

Rob and his team are well known and do a great job and have very reasonable prices.
