I chose to write this review as a way to vent. Because not one person at the City of Clinton gives a big damn. I live with my husband. We run as little electricity as humanly possible because we KNOW how messed up the city is. Want to guess how much my power bill was for January 2024? 300! No. Higher. Yes Im serious higher. $659.03! Im not exaggerating. Im not joking. My electric was 499.82. The bulk of the remaining was for water. Which we cant drink because it stinks so of chlorine. But What really ticked me off.because I paid online it cost me 15 MORE dollarsa convenience fee. Gtfoh! Its a crying shame that 12 minutes south, in the town of Cross Hill our son has NEVER paid over two hundred for electricity .I would just go ahead and kill over if I got a bill less than 400. Pfft . So if youre reading this City, chuck you farly and your whole fam damily ! March 4 2024 -just $616 for utilities. March 31 2024 Well, Ive just paid our utilities due April 05 and while I didnt kill over because my bill was 364.86 I still died a little (hehe). So you think that means things are better dont you? Nah, I learned long ago if I can buy groceries AND pay powersomething was GONNA happen. Sure nuff a notice that the sanitation department had changed policy happened. I knew then it was going to cost me. Ready for this? Sure? Ok here goes Around here we put trash thats too big to go in our trash cans on the curbside to be picked by one of the actual trash trucks with the claw and all. This used to be what I actually considered a nice perc. Im adding a picture of the notice. Read that and go to the next paragraph. I have questions. We share an excesss waste pick up site with three other addresses.if one family leaves trash on the curb are we to assume were all getting charged? How do you know who to bill? Youre picking randomly? I need you to know that my finger is firmly planted on my nose. So, not it, pal. And the scoops! Who is in charge of counting? I mean a couple years ago I watched the man try five or six times to pick up a tree limb! Are they taking my word for it? Or should we bubble gum in a dish it? . And what if its Sunday night I have excess ? I guess we should keep the trash in the yard until we can get in touch with somebody at the city, to make 24 hours notice?! GTFOH! IHTFID! Also since this is already enough for six books and Im petty have someone proof what is sent to the public. Your notice is redundant and overly explanatory. Some of the public doesnt like you as it is. The language you use in these notices makes you seem pretentious condescending and superior which does zero for likability. Plain Ianguage is more readable and just as binding. Youre a municipality not a law firmstop it.
