We had a reservation for Mills House & due to unforeseen circumstances, we were unable to stay our night. I cannot say enough positive things about Melissa. She was so understanding and amazing helping us fix this issue. My husband and I cant wait to book our trip to Charleston & I will definitely be staying at this hotel. Thank you, Hilton/Mills House & especially Melissa.

This hotel is in a great location and has a nice historic feel. It is definitely on the lower end of Curio collections in my opinion. It seemed to lack a theme. Staff and service (aside from the valet) were excellent. The lobby is quite nice, however, the rooms left a bit to be desired. It wasn't clean like you would expect, with dirt and grime building up around the corners of the bathroom, towels past their prime, and obviously dirty tv remotes (iykyk). My room was one of the smallest rooms they have. However, the ceilings were high and the AC was working. The shower was nice. The room didn't have space for a yoga mat on the floor to do a workout in the room. Fortunately it was right by the gym (or unfortunately if I had wanted to sleep in). I know others in my party were much happier with their rooms and had no complaints. I'm not sure if it was due to the size of my room or if this is standard, but I only had a steamer (no iron), which was surprising for a hotel with a meeting space. The restaurant downstairs was fine. Great service, okay food. The cafe seemed very nice and I was glad it wasn't a national chain. The fitness room was small while also trying too hard. This had a rowing machine and all sorts of other unnecessary equipment in the small space. For my morning run I had to go outside in the dark because all two treadmills were in use. The valet, for $59/night, didn't even offer to walk me to my car in the pouring rain and flooding. I'm not sure if this was one of those assume-you-won't-tip-so-give-poor-service-and-in-turn-you-don't-tip situations or what, but it was such a sour note to end the visit on. It doesn't help that I then went to a far nicer hotel just a couple of blocks over with nicer valet for about half the price. Overall, it was a pretty good hotel that could just use a little more attention to detail. Rooms: My room was tiny and disappointing. Old towels, mid toiletries, mid cleaning practices. Bring your travel clorox wipes and lysol spray if you're a weirdo like me. The suites were much nicer, I heard. Nearby activities: Walkable to a lot of shopping and dining options, the waterfront, and historic houses. Safety: It seemed safe. I had to run outside in the dark and had no issues. Passed a few people who seemed to be homeless or just going through a tough time, but they were pleasant. Walkability: Very walkable but just off the main strip enough to be quiet

Recently stayed here. I thought the hotel was perfect. The staff was great, my room was made up each with new towels. The place had a restaurant and bar which was nice as we came in late. The free wine service in the afternoon was nice. The cafe served great coffee and breakfastI never stayed in a hotel that encompassed this great feature. I would definitely stay here again. The bathrooms are small, but the shower was nice and hot.

Rooms: Every detail of the hotel feels through through and intentional. Seems so small, but I was impressed with their being an umbrella in the room for guest use. The beds were amazing. Really a beautiful space. Walkability: We never got in the car our entire stay. We just walked the city and had access to so much right around us. Food & drinks: We loved the drinks at Iron Horse!
