Rented a 50 foot boom lift. Person at the desk made a comment that he thought it was out of service/returned broken. Then said no notes and said its good. I rented it, drove the hour + home and set it up. Leveling lights were not working. The basket controls would put the unit in alarm when connected. Called the store to report issue and was told to call the 800 # on the machine and hung up on. I waited in excess of 45 minutes to finally get to a person who advised me they were really backed up and could not tell me if anyone would get to me within 24 hours but probably closer to 48. At 400+ a day rental. I returned it to the store and was told since I had it 6 hours a manager would need to approve the return? REALLY?????? Called customer care. No dice there either. Really backed up. The only conclusion I have is if you have this many issues,maybe you're renting junk?

Awful experience. The equipment I rented dies in less than an hour and cannot get my project finished. The customer service is terrible. The rental desk is ran by a miserable old man who has a terrible attitude and doesnt want to be there. The aggravation and issues with renting from Home Depot is not worth it.

My issues are with the tool rental dept. The last two times I rented equipment, the equipment was defective. Their equipment quality control is embarrassing, to say the least. It's so frustrating getting to the customers house only to find out they rented you a defective product. The staff is polite, they will even give you a replacement when you return the defective one. The staff today even said they would reset my time on the replacement equipment. I ask them since my time is valuable could they deliver another one, answer NO, Then I ask them because of my huge inconvenience; travel time, lost production time, and aggravation could they adjust the price. Answer NO. The customer service end of this stores rental dept is well below the standards when dealing with professionals that depend on quality and service.
