My experience with Dental Associates of SC was a breath of fresh air.I had been suffering from multiple toothaches and earaches for many months, but my previous dentist couldn't find the source of all my pain. I did know I needed a root canal. The tooth was visible when I smiled but I had a giant cavity and wasn't sure if I'd able to keep it.On my first Dental Associates visit I had a cleaning and X-rays. The hygienist was friendly and tried to make me feel comfortable. The office was also pleasant. The patient chair faced three large windows overlooking a beautiful leafy wooded area that eased my initial anxiety. Dr. Ross, who has a Doctorate in Dental Surgery, had a calm, yet authoritative manner that reassured me. His exam was much more thorough than my previous dentist's, and he found some problems the other hadn't: a new cavity and a cracked filling. Although new dental problems are never good news, I was relieved; finally there was hope that my pain would end.My second visit was the root canal. Although root canals don't have a great reputation, this one was as comfortable as I can imagine one being. Dr. Ross and his assistant constantly asked me how I was doing and if I needed a break. It has been a couple of days since the procedure and the tooth feels so much better. The pain had become so much of a constant that it's almost shocking not to have it anymore. And best of all, I got to keep my tooth.I'm going back soon to get my permanent crown and get the other problems taken care of. And I'm not dreading it.If you are looking for a good dentist, I highly recommend this one.
