This was an excellent tour. Our group was small, only four, and our guide was Jane who did a fabulous job. She was friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the house, the family and how it fit into Providence history. The tour included most rooms in the house, all beautifully furnished and decorated and it never came across as a memorized speech even know she had probably given the tour dozens or hundreds of times. If you're interested in old homes and/or local history, I would highly recommend this tour, an absolute bargain at the price.

The Lippitt House is a magnificent survivor of a bygone age. The house represents some of that era's very best. The Lippitt family has taken great care to preserve the house and its furnishings so you truly get an authentic feel for what it must have been like to live in such a grand house 160 years ago. Jane gave a terrific tour! She was very well informed and passionate about the house and the Victorian period in general. Full disclosure: I am a docent at the Victorian Mansion in Portland, Maine. Although comparable in their grandness, the two houses are very different despite the fact there is only a five year difference in their ages. I would highly recommend taking a private tour of the Lippitt House. It was not rushed and a lot of fun.

lived in Providence my whole life and never realized we had this gem. My family and I love history. So we decided to stop by the Lippitt Museum randomly and it did not disappoint. Jane was an amazing tour guide, very knowledgeable and answered all of my dads questions. Definitely recommend!

Truly *amazing* moment-in-time experience!! And what a moment. The Lippitts were at the center of late Victorian/Gilded Age Providence, and Providence itself was a manufacturing powerhouse for the country. Go do this tour!! And Jane, your guide through the Lippitt family phenomenon, is terrific!! Youll love this tour!
