Dr Carlsten is a rare type of dentist in the field.  He is unusual in that he is open and willing to engage in discussion, consultations and time towards intricacies of dental insurance as it relates to your individual needs, holistic and biological dental approaches, as well as considering complicated and alternative methods of treating teeth to avoid the dreaded root canal which was thankfully not needed in my case!!  His office is unusually kind and sensitive to the needs of those in transition.  I found his practice soothing or even trauma informed with amazing staff that included yoga teaching hygienists streaming meditative groove music during cleanings to assistants with glitter bombs or glitter centric world views! They are engaged, compassionate and most of all kind.  Dr Carlsten guided me through the past year respecting my fears and concerns around biological and biocompatibility of materials and provided a great balance of care between traditional and alternative dentistry.  We ended up replacing a large number of fillings.  He suspected decay despite xrays telling us otherwise, but each time he was right on target!  We also figured out how to do 2 crowns where every other dentist only felt one was necessary and his office moved heaven and earth to get them both covered under my dental plan.   Honestly I don't know why I am the only review.  He is a gem.  He and his staff honored my comfort levels and low sensitivity to novicaine, with grace and patience not often found.  Best of all they were careful to adapt their practice to my needs, values and beliefs.  He is a wonderful and sensitive soul and certainly one of the most precious and lovely dentists anyone could hope to find.  Despite delays in approvals He completed my care and I now thank him for my mouth fengshui!!!  Check them out, you will be delighted!!!
