My second year sailing after taking lessons at Sail Newport. The boats are well kept up, my instructor was excellent (Monica),easy to reserve a J22 on line. Is thrilling to sail around the harbor. Highly recommend joining and taking lessons so you can take the boat out without an instructor

Our family did the Try Sailing experience. We were hoping to learn a little about sailing and thought it would be a little hands on. Unfortunately, we just sat for an hour and watched someone else sail. We had to pry information out of our guide and several of the answers were its complicated. I had hoped for an introduction to sailing which is what the place advertises instead we paid to circle the bay. Great for a two year old. Waste of money for anyone else.

Great facility. Rented a J22 for 3 hrs last weekend. The boat was well maintained. The check out process was pretty straightforward - I rigged the boat with the instructor, did a tack and a gybe, and docked under sail. Only took a few minutes. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Overall, highly recommended. Great way to see the harbor.
