image If I could give this dealership a negative 5 star review I would. Here is a step by step in how this dealership completely screwed me over.
1. I test drive a 2014 Infiniti QX60 with 103,000 miles on it, so I buy the car for about $15,000 with assurances that it was serviced and ready to drive off the lot (granted with used cars you HAVE to be careful)
2. I buy the car and 2 weeks later I have to come back to pick it up since I needed the license plate to be for MA and they needed time to do the paperwork and receive the license plate (not a big deal)
3. I pick the car up and the first time I drive it home (first time fully driving the car at all) it stalls and the car will not accelerate past say 30 MPH.
4. I call a Nissan dealership and take it to them the very next day to have the car looked at.
5. The Nissan dealership gives me a laundry list of problems such as a bad transmission, control arms needing to be replaced, brakes need to be replaced, etc. totaling about $9,000 worth of repairs.
6. I call Grieco Hyundai back and let them know about the car they just sold me.
7. They tell me to bring it back and since the car is within the 30 day warranty, they will replace the control arm (since they had to take it off to get to the transmission), and replace the transmission.
8. I bring the car back, they give me a rental, and they work on the car.
9. about 2-4 weeks later, they call me back and say they have replaced the parts.
10. I go back to pick up the car with the assumption the car has had (at the very least) the major replacements completed.
11. About 1-2 weeks later, the car breaks down completely.
12. I have the car towed to the nearest parking lot with the help of the police (since I was on the highway) and I call Grieco Hyundai back to let them know what had happened.
13. I speak to Jose in service and he lets me know that they will pick up the car and bring it back to Grieco Hyundai free of charge so that they can work on it some more.
14. They pick the car up, bring it back to Grieco Hyundai, and actually tell me that they will get me a rental (which never happened).
15. Sooner or later, they call me about my car and let me know that there is a problem with the battery and that was it.
16. I disagreed that it was just the battery and I won't lie I got my mother involved hoping they would listen to an older woman instead of a 22 year old. (she spoke with the service manager, Jose from service, and Michael Grieco, the owner)
17. Regardless, I know how to change a battery myself so I went back to Grieco Hyundai (without a rental), had to pay a $100 towing fee (LOL), picked up my car, went to the local auto parts store, and replaced the battery myself.
18. The car "worked fine" until the car broke down again while I was driving it around Boston.
19. I involved the police again just to have my car towed back to my house.
20. I then used AAA to have my car towed from my house to the local Infiniti dealership to have them check the car over.
21a. Infiniti called me back once they had diagnosed the car and get this.... the transmission, control arm, front brakes, and rear brakes have to be replaced totaling about $12,000 worth of repairs.... (the number was higher than Nissan's quote as Infiniti found more problems with the car than Nissan did since Infiniti has a special code reader particular to Infiniti vehicles)
21b. (Nissan AND Infiniti did not mention anything about the battery by the way)
22. I actually asked Infiniti what I should do with this vehicle and they said "at this point you should just a buy a new car man"
I am not sure what to do with my own situation, but anyone who is buying any used (or new) car from this establishment.... just dont?
This entire process started late October-early November 2023 and I am writing this review on April 02, 2024. I have probably driven this vehicle less than 1,000 miles since purchase.
