I went here during the first few months of my first pregnancy starting Sep/Oct 2023, Karen Gingerich was my dr for almost all my visits. Shes incredibly nice and helped ease any problems or anxieties I had. Told me where to call her if I had any issues on other days of the week, like where she would be. I left state so I couldnt continue in her care but I so wish I couldve had her my entire pregnancy and delivery!! I genuinely felt like she and the staff cared about my baby and I. Currently in my third trimester, were both happy & healthy. Thanks to all of those wonderful ladies working there!!

When did this doctor's office become such a joke. Doctors trying to touch you inappropriately, nurses calling you with an attitude and making up information that multiple other doctors have confirmed for you already. Get your things straight. All yall care about is a paycheck do your jobs

The first disappointment is that sometimes they don't answer their phone at all during normal business hours. My next disappointment was that I couldn't get an appointment with a doctor for a pap smear and a symptom that I had as they were booked out months in advance. So I ended up with a CRNP this past June. I got a lab bill 3 months later for tests that Ideemed unnecessary after doing hours of research on my single symptom and especially after I rememberauthorizing only one of the tests. It would have been nice to know what all tests were going to be performed and that I would be charged for each test done from the swab. So I complained to the CRNP over the patient portal, then to the office manager and finally to the regional director about all these tests which added up to $954+ dollars. I also complained that the CRNP did not educate me in any way, shape or form on my symptom,so I agreed to this swab as it appeared to be my only option to try to resolve mysymptom. Since she didn't sayanything, I became especially worried about this symptom. That's just terrible/horrible service!! And I had told this CRNP that I would have to pay practically out of pocket for any labs since my insurance didn't cover labwork. I don't like med professionals who seem to be dishonest when they don't tell you that your symptom may not necessarily require expensive tests. And in the case of my symptom which can be quite a common natural gynecological issue, you would think even a CRNP would know all about it or suggest she could research it further before a swab is necessary. Turns out that a simple change of diet can cause my symptom-- but did she tell me that--no! If I had heard that, I would have refused the swab since I had changed my diet and then the symptom occurred. I also found out later that a pap smear can detect abnormal cells that can be caused by yeast or bacterial infections and if I had been told that, I would never have agreed to the additional expensive swab either. And I wouldn't have paid them, if I had gotten the test results back right away, but it took 3 months to get the test results and unfortunately since I pay my bills on time, I had already paid them. I am so angry about how all this was handled that I will never go back to UPMC. I would love to take them to small claims court, but I would need to get an attorney and thus it is not worth my time or money. The office mgr could have also easily corrected the expenses after the fact (according to the lab I had contacted) by adjusting the lab requisition so that I would only be charged a fraction of the cost, but they didn't do that either. And I wanted to discuss all the above with the CRNP but I would have to pay to see her since the CRNP didn't respond by portal. Not that I want to see her again (no!) but I could teach her some customer service skills (I had a successful long career in customer service). And no apologies from her or her office manager (even after the office mgr agreed that the STD test was not necessary) about my dissatisfaction with the service. Thank God, my family PCP always approaches his patients with the idea of saving them expensive medical costs by discussing all possible solutions and expenses upfront. He won't just rush into a test since he has sensitivity to a customer's pocketbook. And he will also be honest with you that what you have could be something quitebenign as mine was all along. So, I write this review for any patient to be prepared and fully researched should you decide to see a medical professional for an additional opinion-- just so you don't agree to unnecessary costs which they might only be doing just to cover their own butts, lack of knowledge, or appear that they care about your health. Since I never heard from the CRNPwith follow up or anything, I know she doesn't care about mine!
