Cannot believe I am giving this rating for my family Dr's office I had for 20+yrs. Soooo sad BUT yessss ~ this has happened..... They apparently merged with Penn State (yeahhh whatever ) and my care was NOT supposedly to be interrupted. Ummmm OK Now recently found out they are 14 days behind on prior authorizations. Not on insurance side mind you (theirs takes about 25~30 mins) My care was NOT to be interrupted.... Extremely disappointed with the services ~ multiple calls and insane wait times (we're talking 35 ~ 48 minutes) Guess it's time I find a new family dr that has and keeps my best interest in mind!

i see that joanne is still here. i was a patient under the old name with joanne for a few years. hopefully her attitude towards patients has changed over the last 10 years. i was told by joanne if you want to be sick, youll make yourself sick. ill never forget those words told to me when i was an anxious and chronically ill 19 year old. i became ashamed and embarrassed to seek out medical care. a year later i got diagnosed with ulcerative colitis because symptoms became so incredibly severe. i would not trust her with guiding my medical care. her negligence is costly.

I have started seeing Cara at White Rose Family Practice. She was very thorough and took time to explain things to me. My son has also started seeing her and he feels the same. We both really like her and will continue to see her. Vickie Ernst

No longer a family practice. I have been a patient here for over 20 years. Before they sold out to Penn State, I would have recommended them to anyone. Now? Staff turn over rates are alarming. Twice now my PCP has left the practice. The two remaining doctors are great however they are overworked and thus cannot take on new patients. I am told that my only option for a PCP is one of two physicians assistants. My experience with PAs has not been stellar. I'm told I can wait for a new doctor to be hired, however, estimated time for this is at least 6 months. Truly sad, this was a wonderful place. Now, office staff is hit or miss, some are lovely but some are quite rude. Mistakes happen frequently. In the past six months, I had had tests ordered that I was told I would receive a call to schedule, no call came. I've had tests results where no one ever calls me with information so I am left to go to Google to try and figure out what everything means. One day, I had a very fast heart rate out of the blue hours before a dental appointment. I questioned if anesthesia would be safe so I called the office. I was told no one was available, which is fine, but that they would note it as an emergency and have someone call me ASAP. No call came until 8 pm that night, many hours after my 1 pm appointment with the dentist that I was concerned about. I know they are overworked and understaffed, but it is frightening when you can't call in and receive a timely response. I once again had to play web doctor and figure out what was best. I want to stay as it is convenient and familiarity is comforting but I find it increasingly difficult to do so. I'm holding out hope they get some new staff hired and things improve, but, if you are shopping for a new doctor, for the time being at least, I would steer clear.

This office was the best before Penn State Health took over. Now every time I need a refill I am told I need an appointment first by a very rude office staff member. When I questioned why I need an appointment for a refill since I just had an appointment to meet a new Dr. I was told it was the law that I have an appointment because I have not been treated there for a while. When I reminded them I just had 2 appointments since Labor Day I was told I have never had a physical there. Since I have been going to this office for 20 years or so I know I have had a physical there and then they remember that I had one in 2021 but I still need an appointment for a refill of asthma meds. Then when I call in and ask to speak with a supervisor or manager I am transferred back to the same person who called me and told me it was the law. After finally speaking to the office manager and having them check with my Dr. They can refill my meds without an appointment and it was a mistake. But I thought it was the law? How did that change so quick? The office staff dont know anything about meds, and when you call to get you prescription sent to the correct pharmacy they try to tell the Dr. You need a different med than the one you asked to be refilled. Cara K. Is wonderful but I miss the old office staff, management , nurses and Doctors that left especially Dr. Kepner. We will be looking for a new Dr. Very soon. Sick of paying for Urgent care when I have a sinus infection because I cant go to my doctors office when I am sick. It was ridiculous when everyone was panicked about Covid but it is even more ridiculous now.
