Great attic insulation job

Multiple of the locations where insulation was supposed to be installed were not and the new installed water heater that was supposed to perform better than my old one barely lasts a shower before it runs out of hot water! Also, I found insulation left around: on the bathroom floors, all over my laundry room /behind the washing machine.

York cut corners with their work, and I would have never known except when I asked BGE to have an independent auditor inspect their work since my house still felt cold and drafty. Found they didn't properly seal any of my 6 recessed lights exposed in the attic, and my bath fans weren't vented to proper standards. They used 4 inch non-insulated ducts instead of 6 inch insulated. The bath fan was only venting 29 cfm instead of the 100+ cfm it is rated. They have been non-responsive now to address my concerns. To have it corrected, I used another company whose quality was much better.

If you are considering York Home Performance, please read this review before taking any further steps. We hired York Home performance to add insulation to our house in 2019 summer. They did a bunch of checks using a few huge fans in our house and told us insulation could only be done if we replace our gas water heater with a new unit. So they installed a hybrid unit for us, which made our basement even colder in winter. Isn't this just against the purpose of insulation?! What's even worse is that they hired some contractors who were not professional at all to install the unit. The valves, pipes, the way they change from gas unit to electric unit were not up to code and could cause potential safety issues. After the unit was installed, they did the insulation in a rush maybe? Otherwise I couldn't think of any reason why the work was so bad. They filled our attic with a type of pink material like wool and furs floating everywhere. To be honest, it's still super cold in our house during winter time, our monthly utility bill is above $300 by setting the highest temperature to 68 F and our home is just 2000 square feet. What really pissed me off and leaving this review is that the water heater failed after 4 years. So, we requested a few diagnosis, every plumber came to our house told us we were taken advantage of. And they all asked me the same question, why did you purchase this fancy hybrid unit. I feel I'm like a fool. So, if you are considering York Home Performance, please google for other services. I believe there are honest people and quality service in the neighborhood.
