Once upon a yester year circa 2012 ish. I took my wrx to fast for an engine rebuild back when I didn't really know what I was doing. That engine didn't make it 1000 miles. Why you might ask? The crank case vent/catch can was closed and not venting to intake, causing my engine to blow by massive amounts of oil. Partially my mistake for buying the wrong part/partially the fault of the shop for not catching that pretty blaring mistake And here I am nearly 10 years later rebuilding the car myself.. and I have caught some other issues. Mainly in the heads. When they had my engine apart somehow they managed to mix/match my cam journal caps from the head casings. Meaning the cam caps are machined from the factory to match a set of heads. You can't mix and match those parts because the tolerances will never be correct. I found this out at the machine shop, and you can't buy new journals, leaving me with what amounts to a junk set of heads. Paid a lot of money, even back then for a motor that was doomed to fail from the minute it went in my car. But again I was 22, I didn't know what I was doing and entrusted everything to the shop, and it taught me some life lessons.

Great group of people. Very knowledgeable and personable. They can do pretty much anything from factory maintenance, go fast bits, vinyl, and paint.
