I just recently got successfully discharged from chor and honestly it is probably one of the best residential treatment facilities you will find in pa. the majority of the staff really do care and try to make sure you are safe, even though they don't get paid nearly enough. i will say that the grtf unit does not get nearly as much as the boys units (rtf, srtf, and clemente) do. for example, over the summer i witnessed the boys go to the pool every week like clockwork, while the grtf clients were told that we didnt have the money. the boys units were constantly going on outings while the girls were stuck on the unit doing nothing. the grtf staff did try to make the best of it and bring water balloons and other fun things to do. im pretty sure this is pretty common, but the food is absolute trash. (im kinda picky though) the only thing that i would really want to see change though is the staffs pay. they are so underpaid and they go through so much in this job. they have to deal with kids trying to get into fights and they can sometimes be attacked themselves. shoutout to ms. clara, ms. klarissa, ms. yami, and mr. jermaine, for always helping me out when i needed something :)
