Curtis E. Barnes, Attorney at Law

I hired Curtis Barnes for a small case in Berks County when I was arrested with a small amount of marijuana. Curtis charge me $1500 to be two hours late to my pre-trial, and to provide such poor legal counsel to the trial that I have been forced to request a retrial. Upon entering the court room Curtis informed myself, my father and my boyfriend that I would not have a revoked license as my possession charge was only that, and not classified as possession with intent to sell. Before I signed the paperwork for the court he crossed out the part that said revocation of drivers license and told me dont worry that doesnt apply to you Months later I was pulled over and charged with driving on a suspended license from Berks county. Upon contacting him Barnes immediately told me he had never promised me my license would be kept (I work two full time jobs and need a valid license for both, and the only reason I agreed to the plea deal he presented was because I was assured It would be kept valid) Very angry as now I may face two years of license revocation with this new charge gained by faulty legal information and lost over 1500 paying him to completely screw me over. FIND SOMEONE ELSE THIS MAN IS NOT GOOD LEGAL COUNSEL Edit 4 years later Update! 4 years later, after my court hearing with Curtis, I finally got my license back from the trial Curtis lied to me throughout.(See my original review for details) because of Curtis I have spent the past four years without a license. The original charge was possession of less than a gram of marijuana. I walked from elverson to reading (8 hour walk) to get to work when I couldnt find rides. When my mom died, I couldnt drive to her funeral. Curtis never offered me any form of reimbursement or apology for being two hours late to my pre trial and insisted that he never told my father and I that I would keep my license. I paid him 1500 to do absolutely nothing to help me in the court room. I assume all the good reviews hes gotten since he hounded his new clients into writing, because he is not a good attorney, let alone a good person. I have had lawyers in the past that have done so much to help me when I was young and stupid, but Curtis Barnes was not one of them. This man charged me more than I made in a month to set me back in life so incredibly far, and if Id known the kind of attorney he would have been I would have saved that money and walked into the court room without counsel (probably with very similar results) I hope that since this day he has learned to be honest with his clients; but I sincerely doubt it I really should have sought legal counsel against Curtis for lying to me in the courtroom

Let me start by saying Curtis is truly a man of his word. I reached out to him about my fianc that was incarcerated at Berks County Jail he broke everything down to us about the case and what he would do. Many attorneys say things but dont deliver I cant say that about Mr Barnes he delivered and some. My fianc would have still been in jail if we didnt choose Mr. Barnes I would recommend him over and over and over again. If you want an attorney with the experience and one who actually cares about his clients then look no further choose Curtis E Barnes you will not be disappointed. Yes, this is for those that are in need if a good traffic violations. Facing time for those mistakes in life. This CURTIS E. BARNES, Attorney is by far a very awesome and outstanding lawyer. I was looking at doing some mandatory jail time. And Curtis E. Barnes got me down to a (EM) Electronic Monitor for 1 month. (House Arrest). So i strongly recommend use or call Attorney Curtis E. Barnes the best very good lawyer. Hay everyone hows its going? Well again mr Barns did his thing..I hiried Mr. Barn to help my son on a mandatory jail time term. And again thanks to mr.
