We love Mathnasium and so does my daughter! We love that the center works at her pace and her learning style. She is actually LEARNING the information and not just having her time filled with homework that doesn't help her learn anything. Dylan is fantastic and always works with us to make sure she is having the best experience. We have referred several people there and will continue to do so.

I will give it to you straight, this place is wonderful on two things: helping children excell in their mathematical skills and volunteer work. The program set in place here is phenomenal, and the work ethic of the main staff and the owner is second to none of any tutoring services I have seen and had the privilege to be apart of before.
However, as a former employee saying this to high-school students looking for a job: volunteer here instead. While it is nice to be paid for the work you do, this specific chain in the Pittsburgh area is notoriously bad for their payout, considering that employees often work with about 8-16 kids during a given 4 hour shift, or even more if you are a strictly online tutor. It's not the on-site manager's fault, it's the actual owner of the former Pittsburgh franchise(former because I know atleast one location closed), who essentially refuses to up the payment of the employees in an "entry-level" position in order to turn a profit. And though I have no evidence, the amount of times my paycheck came up short was a bit more than 'random coincidence'.
I'm not saying you shouldn't work here part time if you have a degree. This is a great way for someone higher up the corporation's chain or someone with a second job to make money. High-school students should instead look to volunteer, because after almost 2 years of working here at very menial pay, I can tell you the money, while nice, isn't enough for the workload and skills required. Often times, you're not only tutoring, but acting in a teaching position on concepts that kids have little understanding on.
