Big Jims in the run has been serving the local community since 1977. Theyve got tons of tons of reviews and fans across the city and beyond. They were even featured on DDD. Most restaurants that have been on that show have not lived up to the hype, but Big Jims is proper. The menu is proper neighborhood Italian. I hear they cook their sauce for six hours. I opted for the veal Parmesan as its something I rarely ever eat. First of all, the portions are insanely large. So insanely large in fact they charge a split plate fee, which would still be worth it to share. The food is good. Everyone around me were smiling as they were scarfing their faces with sandwiches and fries. Its a place that takes you back in time. Its a place where the bartender knows your name and your order. There are regulars. Even the neighborhood is nostalgic in a sense. Definitely a big thumbs up.
