PHC's response to my review is unacceptable. The issue, nurse was telling others she was allegedly leaving, but not her agency, nor us. Agency didn't know when we called. Stop lying, PHC. Nurse's behavior is abnormal. There is no good reason why nurse had to run her mouth about potentially leaving to school staff. Update: Personal Health Care has a nurse who attends school with my son for the 2024 school year. I find out, through my son's busdriver, that nurse is looking for another job. The busdriver was giving the nurse his contact info, so they could keep in touch. The lack of communication with this agency is very evident. The nurse informed us that the agency was supposed to tell us about her looking for other work. The agency never told us. When we contacted the agency, they stated that they didn't know about the nurse looking for another job. This agency cannot be trusted. What kind of a nurse looks for another job in the middle of a client's school year? On another note, it would not be considered harassment when I confronted the nurse about why I was kept in the dark about her looking for another job. The nurse was telling others that she was looking for other work, but failed to tell us. My son's teacher gave us a call to tell us what our nurse was telling people. The nurse owes me an explanation and an apology. The nurse would not take accountability for her unprofessionalism with how she handled this situation. If I was a nurse for an agency, I would be open and honest and tell the family of the client that I was looking for other work, not be sneaky and secretive as your nurse is. I don't really care that she is looking for other work. I am very annoyed that I was kept in the dark about the nurse looking for other work. It would have been helpful to know when their nurse first started looking for other work, so we could have started looking sooner for another nurse using a different agency. The busdriver, one of the school employees, and an employee at the Intermediate Unit all knew that my son's nurse was looking for other work, but we were the last ones to find out about it. Personal Health Care doesn't care about their clients. I am looking forward to cutting ties with this agency permanently. They are so incompetent. After my son's school nurse was telling people at school that she would be leaving and failed to tell us she was leaving, she now says she will be staying. How unprofessional. Now, she will have to deal with me. She may wind up quitting after all. I don't take any nonsense. I have also noticed that employees of Personal Health Care post positive reviews here. Writing reviews for a business that you own or work for is not permitted as per the review policies and are eligible to be removed: Google doesnt want their search results cluttered with biased reviews, I mean, seriously,do you think youre going to be as critical of your own business as a customer/client would be? My incapacitated adult son is a client of Personal Health Care. My son has not been able to attend school when his nurse calls out sick. There should always be another nurse available to replace the nurse who is out sick. This is totally unacceptable. On another note, I started avoiding their one home nurse who would obsessively talk about my son going into a group home, when we had no plans of placing him in a home. This same nurse would also tell me that the state is watching our case closely. I stated that the state watches all cases closely. It seems like this nurse is mentally unstable, paranoid and created unnecessary drama. This one nurse was very messy. Her hands would shake horribly. When she would do my son's g-tube feeds, she would get his formula everywhere. My couch and window would be covered with formula. I was always cleaning up after her. I was so relieved to see this nurse leave and never return. I believe that private duty nursing agencies should shadow their nurses, watch them work, on occasion, to see how competent or incompetent their nurses actually are.

Ive had the pleasure of having Personal Health Care provide care to my neighbor. All of the aides caring for him were compassionate and treated him with respect through his difficult diagnosis and challenging final weeks. His wife is thrilled with the care he was given and she cannot recommend the whole team at Personal Health Care enough.

Business Response on Google Feb 15th, 2024
Thanks for sharing your feedback with Personal Health Care. We all can relate when someone calls out sick or decides they want to leave for a new job and how frustrating that can be. We encourages all our employees to notify the office when calling out in order to let the families know that they should implement there backup plans. Specifically in this instance the nurse did notify the office and we reached out to the family to provide time to implement a change in schedule. Our nurse was looking for a new job and was interviewing with other clients and agencies and ultimately she has decided to stay with the family and take care of our client. In this instance it seems as time has resolved any issues with the nurse potentially leaving for another opportunity.
