I have never had such a positive experience accessing and establishing care before. The operators were incredibly kind and helpful. I was connected with a therapist for an appointment two days later and a psychiatrist within the next three weeks. People are often dissuaded from pursuing mental health resources because of this first step of establishing care. LifeStance made it very easy.

Easily the worst medical experience I've ever had in my life. After waiting over a month for an appointment with a psychiatrist, Dr. Ajayi told me she would refuse to prescribe me any of my medications (a standard depressant and anti-anxiety medication which I've been taking for 10 years). She then accused me of lying to her about my drug use when I said "No" after she asked if I used drugs like heroin or amphetamines, because I drink coffee a few days a week. She told me that I needed to submit a full set of forms and medical records, but that she didn't know where I should send them. During the month I was waiting for an appointment, Lifestance never once reached out asking for my medical records (which I had on-hand during the time of the appointment with Dr. Ajayi, and could have sent if she'd been able to provide me a secure email or file drop). After Dr. Ajayi accused me of being drug-seeking and lying about my psychiatric need, she told me I'd have to figure out where to send my medical records, and then schedule another appointment, despite having only a few days left of my antidepressant, and that there weren't appointments available with any LifeStance psychiatrist for over a month. Dr. Ajayi showed no concern over the fact that I'd be going through unsupervised antidepressant withdrawal and be without medication for several weeks. After this happened, I spoke with Stacey, a clinical supervisor at LifeStance. Stacey had me send her my medical records to her email (which seems distressingly like a patient privacy concern, but I was desperate) and then passed them to Dr. Ajayi, and said to reach out if Dr. Ajayi did not call me back. I never heard back from Stacey or Dr. Ajayi. I ended up scheduling an appointment out of network with a physician who was professional and understanding. I would suggest avoiding LifeStance at all costs, and particularly Dr. Ajayi - I'm not sure what sort of cereal box she got her medical degree out of, but it clearly did not educate her in any way in bedside manner, professionalism, or compassion.
