Penn Outpatient Lab Perelman

The girl drawing my blood was so rude & lazy..she wouldnt even get out of her seat to draw my blood & made me stretch my right arm over to her! Then when she asked me To verify my tubes I couldnt see cause There was a glare & I asked to see them when I was giving them back to her she ripped them out of my hand.. I said you dont have to grab them like that she just looked at me.. I think she was mad cause I wouldnt give her my left arm.. Im a Phlebotomist of 25 years & I work for Penn.. I never told her I was one or made her feel Intimidated but I would never Treat a patient the way she did..

My tech was good but the process is a headache to many lines and I had an appointment and still have to waited 30 minutes. Please make some changes.

I have some sympathy for the staff because this place is poorly designed, too small, understaffed (and it was before the pandemic). They dont let support people sit with the patients or go in the back. The staff are always angry. My sister has standing appointments and they always say they have no appointment for her although its in her portal. She has currently waited 45 minutes past her appointment and they are making her late for her next appointment. When patients have to wait in the hall because the waiting room is full, staff sit at their desks to call patients who cannot hear them. They get snotty if patients dont leap up and shout a response, which is hard for people who may be elderly or sick. If there is a helicopter landing at CHOP, no one can hear anything. There is no microphone or PA system. I submitted patient feedback and eventually received a response from a manager after I submitted feedback that no one responded. I spoke with the manager bur she wasnt interested in helping, just made excuses, cut me off, and rushed off the phone. So Penn knows about this problem and does not have a solution. Greatly appreciate what Penn can do and will always be grateful for how they helped my sister but Lab Services is not Penn quality.

The Perelman Center itself is wonderful however every-time I visit the Lab Services I have an issue. The Lab perhaps may need more staff and more efficient operation procedures. Staff is not personable at all and seem to be always in a state of irritation.
