Thank God we found you, Jonathan! At first, my wife and I were a bit desperate because Pipa was biting runners and barking at all the dogs in the streets. However, you managed to help her and teach commands that have improved the quality of our walks with her. Now she behaves with grace and does nothing but receive compliments on her behavior and natural beauty.

Jonathan is the best! He started training with our dog, Onix when he was 4 months old. At the first training, Jonathan analyzed his behavior, personality, energy level and more. Jonathan worked with Onix to build his confidence, leash training skills & work on his reactivity around other dogs. Onix has made great strides because of working with Jonathan! He is also such a great and reliable sitter for when we are out of town! I highly recommend working with Jonathan for any of your dog training/ urban pup needs!

Cannot recommend Philadelphia Dog Academy enough!! Jonathan is not only one of the kindest, most genuine people Ive ever met but is BY FAR the most helpful, patient, motivated and educated dog trainer one could ask for. He helped our dog with severe reactivity conquer every little fear, from roller blades to his biggest fear of dogs. Jonathan worked incredibly hard to truly, and deeply understand our dog from his perspective, and then explained in detail to us, step-by-step. He made me feel so much more confident and hopeful with each session. Hes a dog whisperer who will go above and beyond to figure out how to do whats best for you and your pup to make everyones lives happier and easier- its truly amazing.

I trained my 55 lb pit mix Finn with Jonathan for about 4 months (18 sessions total) and cant say enough good things about our time. My dog struggled with anxiety and resource guarding. By the end of our training, Finn has shown noticeable improvement and confidence with what felt like minimal effort on my part. Every trainer will tell you (and its correct) that dog obedience is only as good as the effort and consistency you put in. With Jonathan, he carefully takes the time to provide instruction that works with your lifestyle. I also found that he was able to explain the canine mentality in a way that made sense and therefore allowed me to unconsciously make daily decisions within this framework. He could read my dogs behavior very quickly and by extension taught me how to as well. Heres a quick overview of the training I received with Jonathan (for reference I did the full premium package - 18 sessions for about $1800. 60% up front and 40% at the end): - Detailed behavioral assessment - Mix of hands on training and knowledge transfer sessions - 4 day stay at Jonathans to assess the dogs activity level and optimal daily routine (he provided a thorough activity assessment at the end). He also takes the time to try out activities with the dog that you have expressed interest in. I found out my dog was a great candidate for bike rides and we now take weekly rides together! (Bonus points for hooking me up with the best equipment on the market for this activity)
