I'm really starting to think that Rushmore Management needs to lose its Management license over this property. How you just got a brand new elevator installed and I got stuck for about 2-3 minutes between the 1st and 2nd floor while trying to leave the building. I think it's time for a new Management company to takeover or they need to stop hiring scrubs to install elevators because that sudden stop and me being stuck scared the living hell our of me!!!! Come on Rushmore Management DO BETTER MAN GEEZ!!!!

This place definitely needs a lot of work related to maintenance. However, the staff does all they can, and will provide you all the help they cam. Especially Eduvige, shes really helpful and actually cares about the tenants!!!

Tragic. Very, very bad. I can't even.... Nightmare! Forget EVERYTHING you see on the website. Fuggetaboutit. *IF you are not physically capable of using the stairs for many days in a row, don't move in here. It is pure physical hello. The old elevator never worked. There is a new one that is pretty and shiny but it stutters and shakes. Then opens and closes its doors. I have been stuck in it. Its a thing. Expect that kind of drama. The Roosevelt has only the ONE ELEVATOR ..... ....in a building of 10 stories -- I cannot imagine what it will be like in summer, when we are all coming and going....pure hell-o. Today, they put chocolates in front of my door with a little note thanking me for hanging in here during the elevator fiasco. But did I have a choice? When the elevators were down for 5 days in a row people were moving out via the stairs. I have never seen anything like it in my life -- that's how badly people wanted out of this building. But chocolate? Great. The mice can have a nice chocolate snack, courtesy of the Roosevelt. (SO very stupid!) The building regularly houses homeless people who sneak in and sleep in the gym or the hallway or in an empty apartment. THIS IS FACT. Mice! Very fast. Not too cute. Mice! They are getting better about cleanliness but in reality the whole building simply cannot be dragged into modern living and the way they go about it is laughable. My apartment has an electrical problem and they know ALL about the problems in these units, and just re-rent them when we move out. The freezer pops open when I close the fridge. The veggie drawer cannot be used because the fridge door won't open far enough. The bathroom sink never drains and is kind of gross. They painted my tub, so it is peeling. The wind comes right thru the high-class A/C units stuck in the windows. Tape them up, or all manner of critter will come strolling in. I did not choose this apartment. I came from out of state expecting one thing and getting another. Hahaha. There are noises, city noises, and there are alley noises. The pro's: never had any problems with hot water, I have no neighbors (everyone just moved out when the elevators were down), there are moments when I love my apartment. It is getting into and out of the building that really sucks. Its waiting for the elevator, or climbing flight after flight sweating bullets in my winter clothes while I wrangle my dog. Sound like fun? Let's see... did I miss anything? OH YES. Philly is rotten, to its core. It is an abusive place where the air of "I don't care" is prevalent. Low-minded (let's put our trash directly on the sidwalk!) hard-core (customer service, what's that?). Sure, visiting is OK, but living here is not tenable. Not for me. DOG OWNERS: DON'T DO IT. You will have to use the stairs every time the elevator breaks. If you must move in with a dog, get an apartment on a lower floor. * NOTE: The basement is inaccessible when the elevator goes down, so forget laundry and forget getting to your bike. Forget about food delivery and having friends come over. Or being on time for work. I agree with other reviews: The mail area is a seriously unsecured disaster. Does mgmt care? Heck no. Finally, I have made it thru 4 months. There are people who have been here longer and are finally escaping. I think these apartments are ill-equipped for modern living. I think they are overpriced and that while some of them are really amazing, you won't get one of those... Try to get a good one and pray the elevator keeps working. Would I recommend The Roosevelt Apartments? Only if you are desperate. Are you desperate?
