image Ryan Veterinary Hospital is amazing. We took our dog there for second opinion and am so thankful we did. Our Honey was diagnosed with a portosystemic intrahepatic liver shunt. We live in Akron,Ohio and were basically told there was nothing they could do with her shunt because it was to large to fix. She would only live to be around 3years. Thankfully we found them through research. It turns out Honey was a candidate for a procedure called Coil Embolization. She had the surgery on April 26th. She did well through the surgery but had some complications with her blood clotting. They knew exactly what she needed to help her blood clot. The vet Dana Clark and her team of 8 others were all very knowledgeable and compassable the whole 5 day my dog was in ICU. They called twice a day with updates and would immediately let us know if there was any issues. Thank you Ryan Veterinary Hospital for taking such good care of our Honey. I especially would like to let Dana Clark and her team for helping my family through this difficult time.

image I had a mixed experience with Penn. While I feel as though Dr. Soderman has treated my dog with the utmost care and truly appreciate her, I was not happy with the financial aspect. I was given one price prior to my dogs CT Scan and then charged 1,000 dollars over the initial amount. Unfortunately, in that moment I was devastated from my pets diagnosis and swiped my credit card. As this is a teaching hospital, they can tend to push you to try methods with your pet that will benefit educating their students, but are not financially reasonable.

image We had a really good experience there. Our dog was having to pee constantly and crying non stop on the Dec 23rd. Our dog has Degenerative Myelopathy, they took her back right away, fit her for a harness to help her walk which has been so helpful, got her on meds for her urine infection. We had to wait a long time but that is part of going to any ER. She left better than how she came in and was able to rest when we got home. So glad they are open 24/7.

image I would give this place 10 stars if I could.
I don't want to take up a bunch of room here with negativity about what happened at VSEC, that's on their reviews but it all started with me taking my cat there and them mis diagnosing my cats life threatening situation, the next day I thankfully got my cat to the Penn Vett and that's where he had to get emergency surgery on his small intestines.
Their whole staff specifically Dr.Fink and student Landan took amazing care of my boy and he's out of the hospital 3 days after major surgery acting like it never happened. I can't explain how happy I am I took my cat to Penn, they all care and aren't there just for your money, thank you again, in any animal emergency i will be here
