The severe weather that hit Southern California and Death Velley this February this winter created challenging times for Astrophotography. We took advantage of the 2 days of clear skies to shoot night panos with reflections on the seldom seen Lake Manly. Dan was kept busy helping everyone with their trackers. During the afternoons he did excellent, thorough presentations of post processing. Fortunately it was all recorded so we have the reference videos for future use. Dan's knowledge and enthusiasm made for a great learning experience and after I have had some time to digest what I learned I will plan on joining him on a future workshop.

Death Valley and Alabama Hills was my intro to astrophotography. The preparation provided and support during the workshop exceeded my expectations. The weather could have been better. However, we had opportunities to get unique shots of the landscape. My next astrophotography workshop with Capture the Atlas will be the Arches in Utah. Looking forward to the adventure.

Ever since seeing some of the amazing Milky Way images posted by others on the web, Ive dreamed of capturing similar shots. I recently tried a photo work shop with Capture the Atlas in Death Valley, CA. This was an amazing experience and as a novice, did not know if I could accomplish the dream. However, with the knowledgeable guidance of James and Dorian- who were enthusiastic and patient with me, and the others on the trip, I did get the shot!. Thanks guys for an awesome trip- I truly gained the knowledge to repeat this type of photography on my own. Wishing you all the success on future travels and wishing you clear skies
