From the office personnel to the technician, things were handled efficiently, professionally, and with a smile. A/C was back up and running within 2 hours and working better than before!     We had Toto's install an American Standard AC unit in the spring of 2022. I noticed a leak in our guess bathroom and upon inspection we saw it was from the condensation pipe from our attic AC handler. Toto's came out and serviced the problem but said... 1) someone stepped on the pipe and cracked it, which didn't happen and where it is located, no one would be walking there. 2) that this was "our old" drainage pipe -- they just used the old one -- thus they weren't responsible. Our problem is that we didn't ask them to use our old drain pipe, this was a short cut as subsequent HVAC companies have told us and when we paid for a new unit, we paid for one that would be problem free. I tried to work this out with Toto and just asked them to either just cover our deductible for the water damage in our bathroom ($1,000) or to cover the cost of a condensation pump that now fixed the problem ($950). Clearly, we aren't trying to gouge them. We didn't even ask them to cover the entire cost, but they refused to accept any responsibility and after trying one more time a couple weeks ago, I thought I would let others know. Make sure you get them to change the old drainage lines, or you could end up in a situation like we did. Better yet, I would go with another company that stands behind their work and when they take a short cut, they remedy the situation. RESPONSE TO THE RESPONSE BELOW: What Toto fails to account for is the fact that the pipe she says was clearly stepped on is under the slant of the ceiling/roof that would require a person to be about 3 feet tall to walk there. It is in an obscure area where no one could or would attempt to walk. Also, we sure didn't say they put the price for a replaced drainage line in the bid, only that best practice is that this should have be part of the work. PVC does age and the unit was over 22 years old. Clearly it should have been done. It is much easier not to do it, I understand why they didn't, it just wasn't what was best for the long-term viability of the AC unit to make sure things like old pipes wouldn't be an issue. I wish they would have spiked out that they WOULDN'T be changing the old drainage pipes... my fault for assuming they would and assuming they would take a share of the responsibility... again, we didn't ask for them to take full responsibility. We share part of the blame. But there is NO way humanly possible for someone to break the pipe by walking on it with where it was placed and the slant of the ceiling/roof over that pipe. What we asked for was reasonable and wasn't trying to gouge them, sorry that they didn't see this for the modest request that it was. BTW, the pictures show a cracked pipe, not a pipe that had "clearly" been stepped on... yes, the pictures show where the damage was, but it is a convenient inference that it "must have been stepped on"... again, it wasn't and to tell us it was is tantamount to calling us liars... which isn't appreciated. Again, just be careful and request a total job be quoted and not one that saves them time and effort. I found out the hard way.
