Although, in this business (practicing law) it is very easy to have someone, in some way disappointed, and impossible to predict the outcome with so many variables, and otherwise avoid unfair second-guessing, or armchair quarterbacking, and even though our office is committed ... to taking take very seriously any ...customer complaints, we are really at a disadvantage when it is anonymous and we are unable to determine who the disappointed person was. We hope that by knowing who it is, we can at least attempt an offer to... make it right... or prevent it from happening in the future.In this particular case the author of the post (complaining person) seems to suggest that it was his or her "ex" who was the client from "his wife's advice considering she used him in the past on her ex before she was with..." the author" of the post?I pride myself on having the utmost respect for the court, everyone in the courtroom, and even the other attorney. I have taught CLE courses to other attorneys and always promote the idea that even in an advocacy setting, one can disagree without being disagreeable. I am proud of my command of the English language and most of all my Christian courtesies and vehemently oppose any suggestion otherwise.With regard to the financial comment, although we work hard and make sure we are compensated so that we can remain open and be available to other people, our billing provides at least two payment options, the ability to use a charge card, and our projecting small phases of the work, so that the consumer can rate how the file is going and how we are doing, in portions of payments. Simply stated, we project the minimum amount of work that we need to preserve the client's position and from then on, if the client is unhappy with us or the progress of the file he or she need not invest any more in the effort.The author goes on to suggest ... While I was representing myself... He or she was impossible to communicate with..." It sounds like he or she was representing themselves against my client. If this is the person I think it may be this person was abusive to my client, called under the influence of alcohol or other and was very argumentative on the phone. Simply stated, although I pride myself on being courteous I am not going to allow my client or myself or our office to be abused.Again, I challenge this person to reach out directly to our office and we will investigate, we are not perfect, we will improve and make it right, if we are wrong.
