Great place to see a part of Mennonite history. This building is the oldest unaltered Mennonite Meetinghouse in the United States. While other meeting houses were built prior to this, this is the oldest one that has not been added to or renovated since it was built in the 1850's. This building was used for regular services until the 1950's and then was used intermittently for a while. It closed its doors until the 1990's when the Alleghany Mennonite Meeting house committee took over care of the place. Aside from repairs, this building remains the same as when it was built.
