Ive had the absolute best experience with this property management. Im a First time renter/tenant and its been a great 4 years with them. Ive had little to no issues at my home. Whenever I had an issue maintenance was at my house the very next day fixing whatever issue I had same day. I highly recommend them, they were great to me. Ill miss this home and landlord. Thank you guys

I do not recommend renting from this company. The property manager is cold hearted and doesn't empathize with the tenants personal experience. The property manager will put you out on the street without hesitation and not try to communicate with the tenant. Just my personal experience with Homestead. I suggest checking harder since I did live in this company's apartments. This ain't a fake review.

This is a HONEST & REAL review of my experience renting from Homestead. Firstly, Homestead should state in their listings that no smoking is permitted, not just in the lease to eliminate drama and confusion, as its known, a lot people do not read what they sign! If you care about your quality of life, then youre taking a risk renting from Homestead. Be aware of SMOKING! If you have asthma, or any respiratory issues, and if you happen to share a property with a neighboring tenant that smokes, Homestead will give you the runaround, by telling you to reach out again & again, if the smoking/issues continues, even though THIER lease states that smoking is not permitted in or around the property. Oh, and in the event the nuisance tenants lie and say they dont smoke, which 9 times out of 10 they will, it will then turn into a one tenants word against the others game. After being affected by the smoking for 5 months(asthma flares ups, by my daughter and I), I was gaslighted, and told that it must be my neighbors, that live next door, (it wasnt, we were neighbors for at least 4 years, so it wouldnt all of a sudden be an issue when the new Homestead tenants arrived) Then I was asked by Homestead if I had a police report against the tenant, and told in not so many words, to call the police and make a police report, so that Homestead could take further action. My issue is, why wait 5 months into an issue to tell someone they need a police report on the matter? I initially asked that in the event I move out without giving the proper notice, would my security deposit be returned, and I never got a direct answer, however recently I was told I couldve given notice, and modify it if needed (cancel, extend etc.) Although that info wouldve been helpful sooner, I think it is irresponsible on Homesteads part to have the undertone of we dont care if its smoking happening in and on the premises, follow the terms of the lease as it relates to vacating the property, when not smoking is also apart of the lease, and yet they arent enforcing their policies! Also, you may not have quiet enjoyment of your unit, as neighboring tenants may lack common courtesy when it comes to noise. If you have to rise early for work, in my case I rise in the 4am hour, and/or if you or someone from your household have sensory overload issues(autism, adhd etc.), take into account, that their units may not be the right fit for you. I forgot to mention, if you follow Homesteads requests to keep making complaints about the non compliant tenants, the neighboring tenants may get mad, and become antagonistic and/or passive aggressive/retaliatory, and engage in intimidating behavior, including talking about having their peoples come to do something. All in all, if you have decent neighboring tenants, you may enjoy your time renting from Homestead, if you dont have good neighboring tenants, your quality of life will suffer, and in my case, Homestead will waste your time, instead of offering a real solution, like transferring your lease to another property(I asked about this, Homestead said I would have to apply for a new unit. Why would I want to lock into a 12 month lease, and be stuck with another Homestead unit)or they couldve allowed me to leave on shorter notice, with no loss of security deposit, as a result of Homestead not enforcing the policies of their lease, and essentially forcing my daughter and I to stay in an environment that was a detriment to our health, which is essentially a breach of the contract that they provided. Had I known that smoking would be permitted at any point during my tenancy, I would have NEVER signed the lease. I struggled with whether I should give 1 or 2 stars, as a portion of my time renting from them was great and it was easy to obtain. My credit score is high 700s, so Im not sure if that helped, however the portion that was bad, was really bad, and to respond so cavalier to a health concern issue, forced me to go with 1 star, not to mention, I now have enemies over all this, what a joke!

Business Response on Google Jan 22nd, 2024
Hi John,We do not have any record of a tenant with your name, so we cannot respond directly to your situation. Our first choice is to work with tenants whenever possible, prior to seeking legal resolution. Unfortunately, there are times when a tenant is unable to adhere to the terms of their lease.
