We are sorry you had an issue with your door. We looked into and here is what we found about your order. Tom Bryerton, the contractor for this project, came in on Oct 3rd and asked our sales person Rich to price a 34" steel door craftsman style. Rich priced him that steel door along with a smooth star fiberglass door. Rich was telling the contractor the differences between the 2 doors; the steel door has a raised panel and the fiberglass has a flat panel. Nothing was discussed concerning any staining of the door. That was not discussed since he started with a Steel door. Rich gave Tom a copy of the Reeb door quote that had both doors (steel and smooth star fiberglass) on the quote. Tom texted Rich on Oct 4th at approximately 8am to order the 34" fiberglass door line #1 (smooth star fiberglass on the quote). Rich placed the order and then at approximately 2pm Tom texted Rich to change the door sill to an ADA sill. Rich called and made the change with Reeb. Tom Bryerton came in the morning of 10/14 to pick it up and when he was loading the door said it was to be brown. He came in and spoke to Rich and showed Rich the door that we have on display by the counter and said this is what I thought I was getting. That door that he pulled out of the display rack is a Fiber Classic Mahogany stained. Rich did tell him then that that particular door costs approximately 2 times as much. Tom then asked us about painting the door and left.Rich had mentioned that maybe when Tom first came in he might have said ``I would like a door style like this in Steel 34". That then started the raised versus flat panel discussion. We were not told anything about pre-finishing the door and Reeb will not pre-finish a steel door. At that point if Tom had said anything about the color of the door the discussion would have changed and we would have asked if he was painting or staining the door, but since he started the conversation that he wanted to price a steel door we assumed that he was painting the door.We at the store at no time were aware if you came in at all and looked at any of the doors. If you had, you never told us that Tom Bryerton sent you in to look at doors and would be installing the door.Again, we are sorry for any miscommunication there may have been, but this is the information we had to go by from the contractor.
