Kissel Hill Counseling Associates were first recommended to me when I was searching for reputable counseling for my daughter's PTSD, the experience we had and continue to have as well as the growth we saw meant so much and was so impactful that I began counseling here as well. I highly recommend Kissel Hill Counseling Associates and commend them for their outstanding patient care and dedication to provide guidance and the tools necessary to your individual needs and personal growth!

This office is professional while at the same time having a very comfortable atmosphere. Its nicely decorated and feels much more relaxing than many other places that feel like dr offices. Ive been seeing Andrea Barrow and really appreciate her attentiveness and empathy. Ive been able to build up trust with her and feel validated when sharing my experiences or points of views. I have been able to see positive changes within myself and look forward to continuing to see positive progress.

Past counseling was beneficial but not something I stuck with. It took me years to attempt it again. I lucked out with Kissel Hill Counseling. I love the balance between genuine human compassion and evidence based techniques that my counselor provides me. I'm so thankful that I found her.

I have been to counseling before and I have to say, the environment presented in the office felt very forced and not sincere at all. There were several details that felt "off." As I sat in the waiting room, a large dog came out to greet me. Personally, I *love* dogs, but I was surprised no one had informed me that they had a therapy dog on the premises that was free-roaming, especially one so large (but she was utterly sweet). Again, I want to reiterate that I absolutely adore dogs, but I wonder if it won't cause others trouble (like on the off-chance someone has a phobia of large dogs or an allergy). Not really a complaint, but it is a detail I think the staff should take into consideration as the aim of a counselor's office is to provide an environment that feels safe for everyone. But my main complaint stems from the visit itself. The room where I was to speak with the therapist felt very "Pinterest-y". Like, Himalayan salt lamps, chunky throw blankets/pillows, incense, etc. The counselor grabbed a blanket and curled up with one on her office chair to speak with me, but I didn't feel like I was really being heard. For example, if I divulged an uncomfortable or touchy detail about myself or my past, she would simply stare at me. No questions, no further digging. I have been to counseling before and had an excellent counselor who picked up on these "red flags" and saw them as opportunities to learn more about myself or my history. But here, I felt like by the end of the visit, the counselor knew more about what hobbies I enjoyed or how many siblings I had rather than what was really bothering me. Reading back on the review, I don't really explain it well; it's one of those "you had to be there" moments, I suppose. But overall, I felt unheard. I didn't leave the office feeling like we had set out a plan for future care or even like we had properly met. I felt more like another patient ticked off the list. Personally, I will never return to this office. However, I do hope if any of the staff reads this, they take these points into consideration so that future patients can receive the care they need.

I had not had good experiences in therapy or counseling prior to working with Kissel Hill Counseling. I've found the staff and my therapist to be highly knowledgeable and very helpful with a variety of issues and circumstances. I've found their office and services to be so beneficial that I have referred several friends and family members to them over the years. If you think therapy could be for you, call or email KHC!

We are sorry your experience in our office was not a positive one. We strive to create a warm and inviting space, unlike the clinical atmosphere of a larger group practice or clinic. We assure you; this aspect of our practice is quite sincere and extremely important to us.We do disclose the fact that we often have a therapy dog or two in the office. There is information prominently displayed on our website, and all new clients are required to review and sign a disclosure about the potential inclusion of dogs in therapy sessions. The dogs are gentle and friendly and can sit with a client if desired, lie down on the floor, or be moved to another area to accommodate the needs and comfort of the client. Our therapists take every review, positive or negative, very seriously and always discuss reviews to identify what we are doing well and what need to improve upon. We wish you well and hope you find a therapist (and office) more to your liking.
