Travis Stuttler Has been very helpful with my inquiries about mobile homes. He gave me a guided tour through the factory, showing me the models on display and in progress...even some tiny homes! He returns my calls and checks up on me as I am still going through the process... Thank you Travis!

Had a great experience today with Travis Stutters factory tour. Travis was very knowledgeable about manufactured homes. He was very polite and patient. I would reccomend Travis Stutter and Factory Expo as a great option for a manufactured home retailer.

We recently finished getting our new home from Factory Expo Homes, so I wanted to post our experience as someone who has been through the whole process. Overall, we are fairly happy with the single-wide mobile home we purchased, but the process has been difficult and stressful, and if we needed another mobile home, we would likely not use this company again. (Note - I believe many of the positive reviews are from people who toured the factory and then were contacted to post a positive review and mention an employee by name. There is nothing wrong with this, but just something to be aware of as you read the reviews. We did have a positive visit, but that one-day visit is only a very small portion of the whole home buying process.) We had issues with communication and attention to detail on their part through the entire process. The contract process was frustrating as they continued to send us different versions with new mistakes each time, from simple typos to substantive problems. We did receive quick email replies, but often they did not answer our questions or were adversarial in tone. There were numerous things about our finished home that were surprises to us, such as no lighting in either bedroom, an odd corner in the bathroom with two mirrors (see photo), and some kitchen cabinets that do not have shelves. When we asked about these issues after delivery of our home, we were told this was our fault as this what we ordered. While it is true that the house was build according to the order we signed, I would have hoped this company would have helped us understand the options during the contract and ordering process so we could make educated decisions, rather than allow some of these potential areas of concern to be overlooked, and then blame us when we were not happy with the result. Another thing that made this process difficult is that Factory Expo Homes only sells you the building - they don't do anything else, like helping you get permits, the site work, installation, etc. They were upfront about this, but led us to believe that we could hire one other contractor to do everything they could not do. This was not the case, at least in our situation. We hired a contractor from the list that was provided to us; however, they only moved the home onto our lot and tied it down. We had to hire and coordinate separate contractors to do everything else (or do it ourselves) which included septic, water, electric, skirting, deck and steps, driveway, home set up, approvals, etc. We were on our own for the permitting process which was very difficult and time-consuming. As far as the quality of the finished home, the overall construction seems good, and I'm hoping it will stand the test of time. Some of the finish work was poor quality, but that is more the responsibility of the factory than this company, although it certainly was not the quality we expected (exposed finish nails, sloppy priming and painting, crooked screws and trim). We also have ongoing issues with the sheet vinyl flooring throughout the home. While it looks nice, it inflates like a balloon anytime the forced hot air is turned on. The factory sent someone out to look at it, but they were unable to fix it, and we are awaiting another crew to come and attempt to fix it again. Overall, the home buying process was frustrating, but in the end, we have a structurally sound home that we can live in, even though it was not exactly what we imagined.
