Quintessential colonial restaurant. Nice waitress. Prime Rib was served covered with brown sauce (not mentioned on the menu) which seemed to serve to cover up the relatively weak entree. Update: Since I can't reply to the response from the owner below, to be clear, what was poured on our prime ribs was not "au jus" as stated on the menu or mentioned in the response. Rather, it was a thick, brown gravy. Au Jus is nothing like gravy, is transparent/translucent and is certainly not thick and spread across the top of the steak like this was. Sorry.

First time to this restaurant and we will definitely be going back to try some other options from the menu. It was nice having live music on a Saturday night. Plenty of parking and our waitress Lori was wonderful, very pleasant and attentive which is hard to find these days! Food was great, we started off with the arugula salad (Id prefer more dressing on it) but still good. (Fresh rolls served with butter- but just wish they were served warm) My husband got the duck (pictured) and I got the butternut squash ravioli which was one of the best I ever had, being the foodies we are that says a lot about that dish! Finished with the chocolate molten cake with vanilla ice cream, this was very good as well as you can taste it was made fresh. Had a lot of the chocolate in the middle which was wonderful! Drinks: We got the dogfish head IPA, Old fashion with the big cube (pictured) and my favorite Chardonnay (Kendall Jackson) Keep it up Bay Pony Inn! Certainly worth another trip back here:) God bless and cheers

Thank you for your review Jon. The brown sauce is described on our menu as Au Jus. It is a French culinary term meaning “with the juice” describing sauces made from the juices released by meats during the cooking process.
