I had my taxes done today at the Street Road office. When I was scheduling my appointment, I called a few places and the reason I decided on Liberty Tax Service was because of the quote I was given over the phone. I was told that since I was a new customer and had my last years paperwork, I would be charged around $150 for my filing fee. I chose to go there because the other quote I was given at another place was $177 so it was cheaper. When I got there today, I found out I was double booked with another customer by the receptionist and felt like there wasnt enough time for me. Ryan was doing my taxes and he was very kind and did what he could for me in the situation we were put in. He felt very sorry that I was mislead and was as helpful as he could be. When my taxes were finished, I was told that the fee would be well over $800. When I got upset because thats not anywhere close to what I was quoted, it was dropped down to $500. I would have never come to this tax service, knowing that I was going to be charged more than four times what I was quoted. This charge was not as a result of me owing taxes, but the result of what this tax service charges their customers for forms. This is a scam, and I dont appreciate being lied to in order to bring me in. I even told the lady that I booked with that I was quoted $177 by another tax place so I was happy to find somewhere that charges less and she still stated it would be cheaper. They should not be offering quotes over the phone if they are unaware of what the fees are for taxes at that location. I have never heard of someone being charged over $800 to file taxes. I am not filing a complicated return and I am the only one filing. I am extremely angry, especially considering I was unaware of the charge, until my taxes were totally done. If I could leave a lower review, I absolutely would. I have been getting my taxes done for many many years, and this year was the first time I paid 4x the amount! Please do not go to this tax service!!!!

I worked with Ryan. He was extremely detailed, friendly, professional, and quick. He was able to answer most of my questions off the top of his head but still verified every answer. He also provided a wealth of information to prepare me for next year's taxes as well.

Great experience was stressing with stock tax cause never done it before and the people there are amazing
