image The glasses I got are not a good prescription for me. I have a difficult time seeing far . I was recommended by friends to this practice but will Not be returning.

I'm sorry that you are unhappy with our office. Unfortunately, your glasses are over a year old now. If you had come into our office with this concern, we could have addressed it at that time. We strive to help our patients see the best that they can with their glasses.

image Visited 2 years in a row. First year was fine, got a full exam. 2nd year, Dr. was upset that he couldn't dilate my eyes (I have a heavy contact prescription and didn't have glasses with me). I read 3 lines using each eye, did not remove my contacts for a full exam and now am fully regretting NOT advocating more for myself. Now that it is getting darker later and I'm driving in "at night" my astigmatism has clearly gotten worse and was not checked. Now I'm stuck for another 8 months with these contacts unless I pay out of pocket for a new exam and separate glasses to correct (which would be cheaper than my contacts). I spent 40 minutes in this office without a FULL eye exam. Do not recommend.

Without breaking any HIPAA violations concerning your examination with our office, we're a little confused as to why you wouldn't have called our office with these concerns instead of writing a bad review 4 months after your initial visit. Technically, your examination isn't completed because you never returned for your eye health evaluation. If you would like to discuss this with our office, please give us a call at 717-569-7107. Our staff goes above and beyond for our patients. I'm sure if you would have called us with these concerns, you would have realized that.

image I went to see doctor at Leola eye center on July 11, before they put eye drops in my eyes, my eyes was fine, I can read without glasses. After they put eye drops, my eyes become blurry until today July 13. Usually after that only take 5 hours back to normal. Then today I visited doctor office to check if something wrong, lucky nothing wrong. Then doctor wants me to change the prescription to cover/make not blurry any more. The point is why I can't read without glasses any more, because my eyes was fine before got the eye drops at doctor office. I am very sad right now, because this happened

The doctors at Eye Center of Lancaster County are dedicated to dilated our patients in order to provide a more thorough eye examination. Occasionally, the drops take a little longer to wear off. In your case, the prescription had gotten substantially stronger, especially in the bifocal. Advice was given on initial examination to update the lenses in your glasses, you opted not to do so. The vision is excellent in both eyes with the new spectacle prescription.

I apologize for the confusion during our phone conversation. Unfortunately, when insurance is involved it is hard for us to quote overages over the telephone. It's a lot easier for us if we have your Insurance information in front of us. That way, we are able to see exactly what is covered and we know if you will or will not have any out of pocket expenses. Every Insurance company has different copays and and allowances for exams and materials. Again, I apologize that we were unable to help you today.

image Today I heard an assistant talk to a patient in a room on my right side, walk to the room on my left and immediately start laughing at and mocking this patient for things he said. She only stopped when I said from my room, The walls are thin here. Last week, something similar happened, so I wonder if its just common at this office. I asked to speak to someone about it today, and the doctor said, Well did you hear any personal information about this patient?" and, Offices are allowed to have thin walls. Im disappointed the doctor became defensive about if its legal or not, instead of seeing how unprofessional it is. Its bad enough that you can hear others answers during the intake questions (the office is in an old home - very thin walls), but its so uncomfortable hearing staff laugh at patients both times Ive been there in the past week.
Update: Update: Dr. Schwartz sent a letter to my home telling me that his staff likes to joke and that I should hear a whole story before making rash assumptions. Had the staff been just joking, Dr. Schwartz would have told me that when I spoke to him in his office, instead of just saying that what I heard wasnt illegal. He didnt pretend it was a joke that day because he knew I had just heard his staff being so rude. An elderly man had been upset, the staff member went to another room after speaking to him and started mocking what he said. If there was a joke, the patient was not in on it. I heard the whole thing because the walls are truly that thin. My vision is bad, my hearing is not. The letter sent to my home was a sad defense of the unprofessional behavior the doctor knows I witnessed. Its also clear from the rest of the reviews that people dont seem to find the staff as funny as Dr. Schwartz does.
