My daughter decided she wanted to adopt and CPR was wonderful to work with. We completed the application during the week, then adopted Hawk, now known as Oliver, this past Saturday. We worked with Donna, who was AMAZING! She was so helpful, kind, and really made sure we found the right kitten! Hes a great addition to our family. Thank you Donna!

I have worked with many shelters and this by far is one of the best in regards to their care for their animals. This is truly a team that puts a lot of time and work into their rescues and actually care enough about the animals to make sure (as best they can) that they are going to a great responsible pet home.

I got turned down from adopting from Centerville Pet Rescue simply because I am a poor person, I didn't have the money for the adoption fee when I filled out an application but I was hoping I could fill out an application and they might keep it on file for a week or so.. anyway the lady called me and after asking about my finances since my apartment complex said we were late on the rent. This woman continued to question me and by the time we were done I had even given her my husbands health information and our entire life stories she proceeded to deny my application and i didn't even bring up keeping it on file as I was too flabbergasted. Anyway, fast forward a few weeks and not only did we receive income taxes but I had landed a full time job in healthcare services so I was hoping I could put in a new application to start over and she's reconsider.. that was no the case I told her she was discriminating against me the first time and she'd gotten angry so the second time she sent me an email saying she got the application but was not going to approve either and I should go look elsewhere! I politely asked for a reason and she stated she did not want to add any more financial burdens to my household, I thought I'd redeemed myself... anyway I've written a book here but I went to the YCSPCA (as per her orders) and they didn't even ask me about my finances AT ALL!!!!! However, because of the experience with them I was so very extremely nervous doing a skype meet and greet with my new pet and the foster parent who was keeping him.. this woman is the director or something.. best bet is just to go elsewhere because the shelter is full but she isn't letting them get adopted either, part of the problem not the solution. I'm sure that car would have much rather reign free in out loving home than be in a cage in a prison. By the way, just because someone has money does not mean they love animals.

As far as pet stores go, this is probably the best place to adopt from. They make sure you have the proper requirements before adopting, which most corporate pet stores don't do. I believe they genuinely care for the animals.
