Door installation botched. Ordered new doors both entry way and storm doors - installer was late which was fine but ended up staying later than expected. The storm doors showed large gaps at the bottom between the concrete and the door (the ones I had on did not have gaps) needless to say the air just seeps in. I call home depot and they say well the house is settling (has is 60 years old) - sorry already settled. They claim nothing they can do. Great storm doors that leak - defeating the whole purpose of storm doors. 6 months later the knobs falls off the entry door. I try to fix this put continues to happen. Finally I tighten and the problem is resolved - poor workmanship and I don't feel I got what I paid for.

Dont get carpet here, service is so bad. was assured there 72hr carpet would be in and done quickly. Was told 2 different things when the 72hrs started. After a week of calling every day. The carpet was still not in and no one was taking responsibility for the problem. I canceled my payment and took my business else where. A day after canceling my order i get a call from the company that installs the carpet (HD subs out all there flooring) saying they have the carpet and want to set the date up to install. Communication dose not happen with theses guys, do your self a favor and go to a carpet place, i sure wish i did.

I will start by first saying I have never reviewed a business online before, generally I don't find it worth my time...however in this case I think its worth the 10 minutes. I recently went into Home Depot to inquire about carpet installation...the lady who discussed options with us was great...very helpful and excited to chat (that's one STAR). I scheduled an appointment for someone to come to my home and measure the rooms in order to get an estimate. After the measuring was done someone contacted me within a few days to discuss options...this went fine...although it felt a bit "clunky" of a process. After discussing options I sent an appointment for install (very excited to cover my soft wood floors!). I received an email three days prior to install explaining to me what to expect on install day........this included a section stating if any doors needed to be trimmed for clearance purposes that could be done for an addition fee. Installation day arrives!!!...Home Depot subcontracts their carpet installation, which I guess is to be expected, however I was a bit nervous when the company installing the carpet arrived and the business name was "couch potato carpet installs"......interesting name.....never the less they guys did a good job installing (that's two STARS). About half way into the job I inquired with the installers about getting the doors trimmed because almost all didn't make clearance with the new carpet...I was informed at that point "they don't do that" and I would need to "call Home Depot about that service"....at this point I was a bit confused based on the email...I thought that was something that could be done during installation...carpet down...doors back on....I proceeded to call Home Depot and was informed I needed to call the subcontracted installation company regarding any door trimmings...so...I did...."Couch Potato" informed me I would need to call Home Depot about getting doors trimmed....so....I called them back....I was told the individual I needed to speak with regarding the issue was "not in today"....needless to say...I have no door for my bathroom, or anywhere else in my house for that matter, and two small children.....not ideal....I thought "o well" just need to wait a day...not ideal but not the end of the world. Meanwhile.....the installers had discovered one of the bedrooms and been measured incorrectly and couldn't finish the install in that room...they had no idea how long it would take to fix the situation but told me someone would be in touch...at this point I'm frustrated but not all hope was lost...I waited for someone to call me about the unfinished project but didn't receive a call in what I thought was a timely fashion...so I called "Coach Potato" myself...they informed me it could take up to 10 days to get new carpet in (bummer)...I called Home Depot and they confirmed...ok...10 days without a bedroom for one child...could be worse. During this same phone call I was told the doors could be trimmed by Home Depot for a fee of $260 and an approx wait time of four days before someone could be sent to my house...in full disclosure I was offered a $100 credit bringing the total to $160 for the door trimming to make amends for the incorrect carpet measurement...needless to say I declined the generous offer...so at this point I have no doors in my house and a bedroom that can't be used for 10 days...which actually ended up being 16 days because once the carpet arrived I needed to schedule a new "installation day" YAY!...a different subcontracted company ended up coming back to my house to finish install...meanwhile, I contacted a local contracting company to come to my house and trim the doors...two days later! doors trimmed and a grand total of $57.90 for time (45 minutes) and supplies.....I since have not been contacted by Home Depot regarding the matter to even offer a $50 gift card (which was offered at part of their "rapid installation" promotion if the installation took more than 7 days to complete after initial order was placed)....in a nut shell...go with local company!!!
