        The rewards program for turning in depleted printer cartridges for $2.00 each at OfficeMax is in my opinion a total scam and ripoff. You cannot immediately access your earned rewards when printer cartridges are turned in. You have to wait a day and then you have to make an additional $10.00 purchase! And, woe be unto anyone who forgets to do any of this within 30 days or your reward dollars are taken away, never again to be seen. This might be fine for a business owner or office manager who is purchasing office supplies on a regular basis but for the average homeowner who doesn't need very much in that line, it's real easy to forget the need to full fill all these requirements and reward dollars are gone. Issuing a gift card for the amount depending on how many cartridges are being returned would in my opinion be much fairer and more equitable way to deal with this.
