I'm in the customer service business and I was impressed with the fact that you stayed open a little longer for me to check out the apartments for my brother who wants to move here. Apartment looked great and and its just what he's looking for. Once again, thanks.

Office staff member was pleasant. Nice location. I applied once and was denied due to a lower income situation. I spent the following months working very hard to increase my income. I tried to apply again, but was turned away because they will not rent to single parents who have a son and a daughter. They state it is a PA law. I wish that would have been told to me the first time before they took my $30. I complained, and was told at the time they took my application, the office staff was new and didn't know that was their policy. Did not offer a refund.

First, I'd like to start off by saying thank you so much to Craig, Lisa, Marcie, & Bev for being incredibly helpful and patient throughtout my moving process to a new unit. I lived in my previous unit for 3 years and had to move because they are remodeling a lot of the units on the property. At first I was panicking because I absolutlely loved my place and the thought of moving drove my anixety to the roof, but Craig himself took the time to talk to me and let me know my options and assure me that I won't have to move again once I moved into my new unit. Lisa, is alwasy so patient and gets things done with no hesistation! Marcie and Bev are sweet and are very helpful! I love my new unit (it is on the fire lane so there's a little walk) but the new paint makes it look a lot more modern and comfy! The property overall is very nice, I never had too many problems with maintenance. The only thing is my shower never drained, but other then that, I never had problems! Neighbors are nice and keep to themselves! When it's summer, it's nice to walk around the property and you can always meet new neighbors! To wrap this review up, Shaler Highlands is a great place to live! Beautiful peaceful property and great location.

My family and I have been living here for over 5 years and our honest opinion, is it sucks, it's run down, it's dangerous. Vehicles have been stolen, vehicles get broken into. The grounds are appalling, missing and falling off shingles on the buildings, fake shutters barely hanging on and their are weeds a foot or higher growing out of most gutters. Half the outside lights are out across the neighborhood on the buildings. We've spoke up about many issues that we and other tenants have and get ignored or pushed off. The laundry building is not much better. Half the equipment decides when it wants to work. Now the big issue is Mold, Mildew and Rot. Some of the buildings have so severe MOLD/MILDEW(black,white,green heavy) infestation that people have been forced to leave. With crews coming in with full hazmat suits like in Outbreak the movie. It's in and on the walls, ceilings, closets, ventilation, within cabinets and so forth. Some of the cabinets are crumbling due to this. Over the years they have pretty much just painted over it and hoped for the best. Pretty much the thinking of hide it, no one will know. It was at the point of causing health issues with us and others. Repairs are at the utmost minimum and that's only if they decide to show up. Again spoke up with others and still ignored. The management company takes the term "SlumLord" to a whole nother level. So us and three other apartments in our building alone couldn't take it no more and had to decide to practically leave over night. Other residents throughout the 200+ apartments have also gone along this path. Other residents have spoke up and they have been ignored as well. Approach this neighborhood with severe caution. Value your finances, health, and family at other neighborhood complexs in Pittsburgh or the Suburbs.
