Holiday Inn Erie, an IHG Hotel

Helpful Staff and a decent room. Nothing stood out while on site.

I needed a quick place to eat while traveling for work on a Saturday evening. When I walked into the restaurant, there was a staff member rolling silverware and watching TV on her phone. She did not greet me. While rolling the silverware, she was eating Panera Bread and Cool Ranch Doritos. I wasn't sure if she worked here at the hotel or not, as she was not wearing any Holiday Inn attire. After this experience, I was grossed out and decided not to eat here.

Loved this hotel stay! Very convenient access from I-90. The hotel appears to be brand new as all the common areas and the room itself were fresh and clean. The bed was comfortable with firmer and softer pillow options. Room is also spacious, with a nice chair and ottoman to relax. I enjoyed that there is a bar & restaurant in house. It was very nice to have a place to dine and unwind on site, after a long day on the road. The last I want to do after a long drive is get back in the car to find dinner. Loved that this amenity was available! I am really not sure how you could rate this place anything less than 5 stars??

This hotel stay was lacking at best. We booked the room a week in advance using rewards points as a weekend getaway for us and our young son. We booked a room with a king size bed and a sofa bed, but the hotel changed us to a room with 2 queen beds instead. Ideally this would be ok but the beds sit as high as my son is tall and he only recently stopped sleeping in a crib so hes still learning not to roll off of the bed. The hotel did not give us any advanced notice of this change so we could bring an alternative sleeping option for him nor did they inform us at check in. Instead we were greeted by a young lady who had absolutely no personality and looked miserable. Then the first room we were put in was already occupied. There were dirty coffee cups, half drank water bottles, and an empty room key sleeve in the room so we had to ask for a clean unoccupied room. The room we were given next was clean but the beds were awful. It was like sleeping on plywood that someone had so kindly laid a comforter on. Weve staid in other IHG hotels in Erie in the past and they were far more accommodating and friendly (plus never put us in an occupied room.) I sincerely hope they get themselves together.
