After spending 2 months in Florida with many Happy Hour options, we were looking for a place in our area that we could enjoy early drinks & food with a nice atmosphere! Its like the heavens answered our prayers when Guytanos Tuscan Chophouse in Clarks Summit started a fabulous cocktail hour every Tuesday through Friday from 4-6PM at their gorgeous Copper Bar. We were there on opening day & continue to go back weekly. Everything about it is fabulous and over the top. The cocktails, beer, wine, & delicious food choices rivals any place we went to in Florida. The presentation of their food is amazing. Shout out to the owner Guy, Sean, Andrea & Clifford for making us feel so welcome, appreciated and creating an experience for us early birds to enjoy.

The food was okay but it was the worst service Ive ever received in a restaurant. It was comically bad, and once the server realized they made a mistake they hid from our table for the remainder of the night. We spent longer waiting for food and waiting for our check than we spent actually enjoying our food. Update: Every now and then I get a notification about someone finding my review helpful, so I check out the recent reviews for this establishment. After noticing that almost every negative review is attempted to be taken down, and noticing the amount of good reviews that come from staff members, I have an even worse taste in my mouth for Guytanos. The best business practices are honest, and these dont seem like honest practices to me.

Quite frankly, this is a prime example of an amateur restauranteur seeking an oversized location in a wealthy area believing he would be successful with mediocre dishes at outrageous prices. $70 for a veal chop? $70 for prime rib? This isnt the East side of Manhattan. And I would wager my bottom dollar that this con job will be up for lease in a years time. Want quality food, in a quiet setting, all home made and at reasonable prices? Take a drive a few exits south to Pazzo on Route 315. Or go and enjoy a treat at Ruths Chris as another reviewer mentioned. This establishment is clearly chasing the income of the households in the Abingtons and delivering an unimpressive product, poor quality ingredients, poorly procured meats, and all far over any reasonable price range for our region. Dream big, but the price tags do not in anyway justify the mediocre food you will get. Just dont waste your money. UPDATE: The egotistical response by the Chef/Owner should explain why his restaurant, as well as his other 8 culinary ventures failed. From Greenville, NC right here to our home in the Abingtons, support our local restaurants. The response that he posted should, and frankly is a reflection of the management of a restaurant that he wants us to patronize? He, and his previous 8 restaurants scattered around various states have no awards, no accolades, are purely driven by ego. I commend him for his effort, but I stand by my amateur restaurant review (yes, I and probably most of us are amateur reviewers; were posting on our experience at a new, grossly overpriced restaurant). So, deductive reasoning tells me that I struck a nerve of reality with this this Chef/owner. I am a simple man that enjoys good, quality food; whether it be a pizza or a $70 veal chop. I normally give every single restaurant 2 opportunities to see if perhaps they were just having a bad night; but Gaetanos, or Guytanos (perhaps hes a tad homophonic as to how his name is properly enunciated in English). I encourage everyone with money to waste to give this ego-driven, with a path of ruined restaurants in his path a shot. Perhaps youll enjoy an environment where youll be fed meat that is wholesale quality (no prime or even choice cuts), no home made pastas or sauces. And compare your experience with the restaurants that have been around our area for decades and generations; none of whom would post such a self-centered, false narrative that is abusive and frankly unprofessional. This is a tale of many restaurateurs whom have come and gone, faded away from our memories while the family owned restaurants that have been run for generations live on. I love new restaurants, hoping for a new culinary delight to enjoy. But, even despite the unprofessional, unprecedented and unacceptable response from Gaetano, my first experience will be my first and my last. If anyone wants a closer local taste, Camelot in Waverly is also an excellent option for everything from pub fare (their fish and chips are divine), to their meat and fish options. Always fresh, fantastic service and you can avoid downtown Clarks Summit traffic. Let the owners response stand forever in testament to my frank and honest review. It speaks for itself and his response should be exactly what you would expect if you find your absurd bill to be unacceptable. Perhaps we should ask Gaetano about all the awards he claims he has? I didnt see a Michelin star next to his name or any restaurant hes been affiliated with. He also doesnt even have a website, when virtually every pizzeria or restaurant in our area has a website, with a menu and a way to see all of these acclimations Gaetano alleges to have. By all means, give him a chance. But you wont leave happy and a few hundred less for the experience and expect abusive responses from Gaetano when you post your honest opinion as an amateur restaurant reviewer (the owners words, not mine). I wonder if he was truly the architect of Mt. Airys restaurant menus and culinary experience, why isnt he the executive chef there? Parking: Terrible intersection to access. This restaurant isnt worth your gas, let alone your hard earned money on the overpriced, underwhelming menu of wholesale quality meats that you can cook at home with ease.
