My parents had an AWFUL experience with AJ at Old Forge Power Equipment. They purchased an engine and since the company does not take credit cards they had to wait until Old Forge Power Equipment received their $6,020.00 check to clear before the engine was sent out. My parents never received an engine from them. They received a core from Boots and Hanks and it was locked up. They took video and sent it to AJ. Unlike other reviews there actually was quite a bit of communication between my parents and AJ by phone and email. AJ asked for them to send back the engine and since he didn't have another engine to send back he would inspect it and issue a refund. They sent it back and AJ then said that no refund would be given and if they wanted the BAD engine back they could drive out of state to pick it up. My parents have been in business since 1975 and my dad is a certified master mechanic. They don't have a use for a bad engine and believe that the company they purchased it from forwarded a bad engine from another company after cashing my parent's check. There are so many other reviews (for example Better Business Bureau has 3 complaints and a C+ rating as I type this, Yelp has 9 1 star reviews from people that aren't out there putting out negativity about other businesses, 100% of the reviews on this company to date are 1 star on Yelp and most reference not even wanting to give this company 1 star ~ google has over a dozen 1 star reviews, a lot of which mention engines that are inoperable) about AJ being a scam artist, crook and liar and I really wish my parents would have read the reviews prior to sending him their check. I wonder how many people don't take the time to leave a review. It took a lot for me to leave a 1 star review as evidenced by never having done a 1 star review in the 15 I have left. We will be telling everyone we know about their experience and hopefully with the strong industry relationships my parents have formed since they started in the 70's we can save someone else from being taken for thousands of dollars! Buyer beware and hopefully you are reading this prior to sending a check!! *in response to the owner's reply the company is KO Fleet, check number 3618 on 2/9/2023 and it was an OM926LA, the only 926 that you had, per your email. Nobody is misinformed here. I took the time to read each and every email and review all of the supplemental information they have in the file. Now you won't take their calls. If that doesn't scream fraud I don't know what does!
