      image BEWARE OF ACADEMY VINYL PLANK. This product claims to offer a Lifetime Warranty for residential installation; however, one week after the floor was installed scratch marks were left by our kitchen chairs that had felt pads on them. What kind of floor gets scratched by felt pads? When I contacted them, they sent it to the Claims Department. An adjuster came out, and it was determined that the floor is not defective but that scratches were made by the chairs - no kidding. I told them that! The point is not how they were made, but that the floor could not stand up against a felt pad. These floors are supposed to be pet-proof, kid-proof, etc. They forgot to mention that they are not felt pad-proof. If you expect to live with these floors, and not just look at them, go with another brand.
      I never had a problem with my previous Pergo floor. It never even occurred to me that a felt pad could ruin a floor! What a joke!
