Fantastic in every way! The host were helpful but also were not too friendly. Breakfast was good, antiques shops in the area are fantastic. Overall this is a great place to stay with reasonable rates. Rooms: Great history dating back 200 years.

Could not have asked for a more comfortable or interesting experience. If you appreciate history and hospitality, make sure you reserve a room at Heslet House. Breakfast was hearty and delicious. The story of the house, the surrounding village, and its inhabitants is truly something to hear. Every guest room at Heslet House is perfectly clean with impossibly comfortable beds, great amenities, and amazing architectural detail. Youll love the hospitality and the quiet atmosphere. If youre ever in the Pittsburgh area, do not overlook this jewel. Rooms: Impeccably clean. Comfortable beds. Lots of charm and character. Nearby activities: The museum next door has tons to offer. They also offer tours at the nearby St. Johns Church, and Old Economy Village (of which Heslet House is a part) have many other community events and programming. The owners of Heslet House can give you excellent recommendations. Safety: Modern locks on all guest room doors are a nice touch. The owners are always on-premises and very courteously wait up for all guests to return for the evening, just to make sure everyone is comfortable and secure. Walkability: The charming old village is perfect for a relaxing stroll. Food & drinks: Our home-cooked breakfast was amazing and truly impressive. We were served a comforting oatmeal dish with fresh fruit (it almost tasted like warm oatmeal banana bread), baked eggs over cheesy hash browns, bacon, orange juice, and our fill of fresh coffee. Superb! Noteworthy details: Old fashioned latch doors (with modern locks; a nice touch). Gorgeous plank floors. Exposed log walls throughout. Look for the roman numeral XII that a builder carved into the log by the door to the upstairs guest room. The owners also have an extensive antique collection that is so fun to peruse.

We have stayed in many B&B's and this was by far our best experience.Heslet House is a beaufully preseved gem in the Ambridge Historic District. The guest rooms were very cleanbeautifully appointed with period furniture and a super comfy bed. Breakfast was a multicourse daily feast prepared by Dennis (best eggs!) and Rosemary from locally sourced foods and fresh from the oven muffins baked daily by Rosemary. Dennis and Rosemary join us daily for breakfast where we had lively conversation on an arrange of topics, best being Dennis's extensive knowledge of historic Ambridge and the Harmony Society. The best part of our stay was meeting Dennis and Rosemary. They have created an environment that made us feel as if we were staying with family.Thank you Dennis and Rosemary we are already planning our next visit!
