My 4 year old son has never been in day care for a reason. I enrolled him into pre-k. The first class he was in was with ms pragna. He came to me and told me she hit him. The red flags were there with my son because he was always telling me in the mornings he didnt want to go to school that his teacher is mean. Before he told me anything I could tell by his body language he was scared but I thought it was him being shy but I was wrong my son was very uncomfortable. I told the director and instead of getting DHS involved they went behind my back & spoke to my son both the directors. I have no clue what they told him but he then started saying that ms pragna was nice. Next we changed him to a different class . He came home and told me another teacher hurt him . She pintched my child. I was working there at the y as well so I already knew the teachers characters each and every one of them. I had to quit I got DHS involved . Turns out the director didnt see anything on the camera which DHS was supposed to be there watching too . They did not take my sons case serious what so ever and come to find out a month later the teacher was caught hitting another student and that is when they fired her. It upsets me because they lost a really caring worker for an abusive intimidating employee. It saddens me that my sons very first experience of pre k was taken from him. The fact my son is shy and they knew this and possibly thought he wasnt going to say something makes me question the whole program. This is supposed to be safe environment and healthy for the kids.I would not recommend sending your child here if you dont want them saying Im tired of teachers hurting me. why are teachers mean to me. The program is a hot mess . I eventually relocated and moved back to New Jersey because Allentown district is corrupted. They do not care about the children in my eyes its all about the fundings., thats my opinion . For the parents out there dont feel bad for writing your reviews and sharing your concerns . This can help another kid by not being traumatized or becoming a victim. I believed my son when he told me who hurt him. Not once did I question him, & when the other victim was hurt by the same assistant teacher it just proved my son was right even though it was a different case. There was never an incident report on my son & I just know that he was bleeding .. so who cleaned his wound is my question ? Unbelievable

This place has discriminated against mentally challenged people. They abuse the special needs during our visit I was told its not family day we shouldnt be here and to leave, while trying to swim. When explained we were members they then waited for my special needs child to start swimming to tell me an aid must be in the water with her and we must leave . Now Ive taken my child to this YMCA many times before and never have I had this issue mostly glares and stares. That day I felt my child was targeted, disrespected, and discriminated against. Ive contacted corporate and the program specialist Mike, yet still no answers or proof of the policy stating my high functioning adult special needs child cant swim without an aid anymore. This is ridiculous my childs day was ruined because of unprofessional staff the pool supervisor and lifeguard on duty at the time had no compassion and looked disgusted with my child just for being present. I will not return and I will make sure this issue is addressed.

I applied to work at the YMCA from an ad they posted on indeed about a year ago. I had an interview with Mike and their executive director. I followed up and was not contacted back. I continued to follow up and again, I heard nothing. I decided to go in and see if I could talk to someone in person. A lady at the front desk brought Mike out who informed me they got a new wellness coordinator and she would be in touch. I spoke to this woman whos name is Crystal and we did a phone interview. She seemed very nervous on the phone and asked me a bunch of random written questions not related to the position I applied for. At the end of the call she offered me a position to teach Silver Sneakers classes and we talked about the hourly rate. The ad that was posted was up to $25 per hour so I requested that since I have years of experience and certifications and am very overqualified for this job. She told me all they could do was $20 so I told her I would need to think about it and she told me to let her know. A couple hours later I got a text from her telling me they could not accommodate the rate she offered me. I asked to speak with her and she declined. I think its wrong to offer a certain rate and then take that back. Especially when the ad went up to $25 and now shes saying they cannot do $20. Seems very unprofessional and fishy. She was very condescending and obviously is not qualified to do her job correctly. Looks like I dodged a bullet anyway from the looks of these google reviews Definitely do not recommend. Be careful and question.
