La cocina del Abuelo - Grandpa’s Kitchen

In the beginning I did love this restaurant & unfortunately this is my first bad experience here. I ordered a rice bowl with no lettuce, received lettuce, plantains & got four little slices of plantains on top. The atmosphere was very nerve recking, no hello, the owner just stared in my face. Im not sure if it was busy or not but again, just wasnt a pleasant experience.

I dont even write reviews but I had to today. Ive tried different Mexican restaurants but this one is a hidden gem!!! Their prices are way to generous for how good their food is!! & the portions are veryyyyy generous, ingredients are fresh, the toppings are fresh. I got the steak tacos so if youre craving a not good but great taco, go order.

I really liked the employee that took my order. She was sweet and professional. BUT THE FOOD. Probably the worst tacos I have ever had in my life. And I should have known because carne asada wasnt a menu item, it was under steak the tacos were one, overpriced. Paying 12$ for 3 tacos should be criminal as that is 4 dollars per tacos. Usually tacos are $2.75-$3.25 each. It was salty and not seasoned well. And the actual corn tortilla wasnt left on the grill for long enough tacos are usually my fav food item, but Ill probably never come back here with how unpleasant the food was. THE Yuca fries didnt do it for me either, there wasnt enough yuca it tasted like it was mixed with something rather than cassava service and ambiance was good but food was a hell no.
