Business Response on Google Aug 14th, 2019
Hi Ashley, thank you for your review. We are sorry that your sisters wedding day was not the absolute best day. Our goal at Sparrow hill is to serve our couples to the best of our abilities and to help them have an amazing stress free wedding weekend. As you may(or may not have) known, your sisters wedding contract was a little different than our standard contract. Because we knew the grooms family well we decided to let them have their wedding here before we officially opened August 29th 2019.Without going to much into detail, and I'm hoping you understand why we are replying to this review, is to help you and those others reading this reply to understand why things were the way they were at your sisters wedding. As stated earlier, we allowed your sister and new brother in law, to use our venue before we officially opened. At the time of the agreement we made, they understood that at the time of their wedding we would fully 100% be under complete construction to get ready for our first "official" wedding on the 29th. They understood that nothing was promised to be done or promised to be completed at the time of their wedding. We agreed that they could use the facilities as-is at the time of their wedding. Nothing was included or guaranteed to be finished. With that said we still wanted the place to be at it's absolute finest for your sister even though it was still a work in progress. We even had a team of 15 amazing people come out Thursday before your sisters wedding to help us get the facilities into tip top shape.I am glad we were able to allow them to use the tables and chairs that were not included in the rental either. When they asked if they could use the table and chairs we purchased months after they booked the venue, they were fully aware of the state of the chairs. We told them that they were more then welcome to use those tables and chairs but that they would need cleaned. They didn't have to use the chairs we had, as stated earlier they were not actually included in the rental. We were sad as well when they decided not to have their ceremony in her first chosen location. The record amounts of rain we received the prior weeks put a damper on making that location an absolute beautiful one as it is now. But the location they chose turned out to be a beautiful one as well! I believe we have a few other bride's looking to have their ceremony there as well!Oh and that oven, that smell was not very good at all when you ladies plugged in the oven and turned it on. :) After the property essentially siting vacant for two years some mice decided to move in. The good news is there was no dead mice in there. I had not tested that stove yet which is why I left it unplugged. I am sorry, I should have put a note on it to not turn it on. The stove that is currently in the bride's cottage has been tested and approved by the Sparrow Hill staff.Ashley, in closing, I hope this reply helps you better understand the events and agreements surrounding your sisters big day. We worked tirelessly day and night before your sisters wedding to get it even close to where we would have like the facilities to have been for her wedding. We wish more could have been completed but restoring a place of this expance is not an easy quick task as you can imagine. We have since "completed"(I'm not sure I'll ever be done :) our major renovations of the facilities for this season with more to come for next. We encourage you to come back and check on the progress that has been done. We wish you your sister and your new brother in law the best an an amazing marriage.ThanksSparrow HillP.s. we hope you can see this reply was not in spite, but that reviews mean so much to a business now a days and we just like to make sure that the information given is accurate.
