Dojo Dave's Massage and Rehab

I highly recommend Dave! He has a deep understanding of the body, and finds those sticky spots I didnt know where there. At the same time, he is very responsive to feedback and always begins with an inquiry into how your body is feeling. His style is a combination of gentle and soothing and deep tissue work that really releases deep holdings, and I have experienced progress on long-standing issues that other masseurs were unable to address. When I have not been up for the more aggressive deep tissue work, he has been great at adapting and giving me a gentler experience. Also, Dave has a lovely, warm manner that puts you at ease and helps you to relax.

I have been to over 15 massages with Dave now and I can tell you he is hands down the best massage therapist in the PDX area. I am an avid runner and his massages help me recover faster and he understands the full anatomy of the body to get down to the root of the soreness. If you let him know what is sore he can focus on that spot and get you feeling better. I highly recommend!!

I've been going to Dojo Dave for years now, and I can't say enough good things about Dave and the amazing work he does. Where most massage therapists rinse and repeat a mechanical routine, Dave listens to you, and listens to your body, such that every massage is a personalized and special experience. It's not just that he is incredibly good at what he does, though: what sets Dave apart is that he genuinely cares. I think the difference between a good masseuse and a great one is a sense of empathy, and the mix of compassion and effort Dave brings to his practice sets him apart as truly great. All of which is to say: both immensely talented as a professional and amazingly kind as a human, Dojo Dave is the man. Just be warned: once you go Dojo, you'll be hard-pressed to return to the rinse-and-repeat routine. When it comes to your back, they'll be going back!

Dave is a great practitioner! I've been getting massages from him for over a year now and I always feel better afterwards! He is very professional and you really can't find a better massage, at a more reasonable price anywhere in the greater Portland/metropolitan area. I would recommend him to anyone looking for deep tissue, relaxation or sports massage.
