Portland Signature HCH: Hospice

I was taking care of my wife who was battling cancer. I tried with all my heart to keep her comfortable, warm ,safe and what ever she needed. It was overwhelming but when you love someone as much as I did you do what ever it takes. I talked to my wife and she agreed I needed help. Signature Hospice was very attentive and gentle and informative on the best help my wife needed. I was so glad she had the best possible care. Thankyou for everything.

Signature Hospice cared for my wife for 2 weeks. Both my family and I had a wonderful experience. Lena, the assigned nurse was very informative, knowledgeable and compassionate. She would spend enough time to answer all the questions concerning end of life care. Matt from the spiritual care team was very comforting and compassionate.

I can't say enough good things to describe the wonderful, compassionate care that Signature Hospice provided. My mother went on hospice but then continued to decline on an extremely slow trajectory. This drawn-out process was trying and stressful for family and caregivers alike. Signature Hospice was there with us every step of the way. Hospice nurses Lena, Jenny, and others whose names I can't remember always took time to answer our questions and address our concerns. They were so kind. Bath aide Penny was so helpful after my mother moved into my home. I don't know how I could have gotten through it without her. Social worker, Sarah, listened to my concerns and always had kind words and useful suggestions. Chaplain Matt was amazing. He would read and sing to my mother and offer a prayer. He always could get her to smile. Dr. Carma Lee was also wonderful. She was caring and kind. She addressed medical and behavioral issues with my mother promptly. Signature Hospice provided an Aftercare Estate Specialist. This was an unexpected bonus. Holly was very helpful in navigating everything that needed to be done after my mother's passing. It could have been overwhelming otherwise. I highly recommend Signature Hospice. Their services are superb.

As my mother's health was declining earlier this year, her primary care physician recommended Signature as both a palliative care and hospice care provider. The palliative care was great as it brought skilled nursing care directly to Mom's apartment. We were able to get immediate feedback on her health status without the need to take her out of her assisted living home. Later this fall, when it was clear she needed hospice care , Signature assigned a team of medical, spiritual and social work professionals to care for Mom. Some of these providers were already familiar with Mom from the palliative care phase. Everyone we worked with at Signature was compassionate , professional and communicated very well. In short, excellent care. It was truly amazing to have such a great team. After Mom passed on, we were contacted by Signature's Aftercare staff. Again, the help was tremendous especially in guiding us and actually doing many of the tasks needed. We are very thankful.
