Genesis Divorce and Family Center

I found out about Genesis through the First Saturday program, which helps people who are going through separation or divorce access tools and resources to help them through it. I was so lucky to have found Kathy at Genesis to mediate my divorce. She was able to advocate for both myself AND ex husband so that we both felt good about what we decided on (we had a lot of entangled finances). Even when emotions got in the mix during meetings, she was so kind and offered solutions that were good for us both. She went above and beyond when, during when our divorce paperwork got submitted to the courts but before a judge signed it, my ex passed away (which made things tricky and complicated). She was able to work with me and provide even more solutions for my situation. Kathy is worth EVERY penny. And the cost is quite affordable. If I had gone through a lawyer and litigation, I would be in debt right now and it would have been so much more icky and tumultuous. I'm so grateful for Kathy and for Genesis helping me through a rough time in my life. I came away from the experience feeling very taken care of. I highly recommend Genesis and Kathy Crick.

I was referred to Genesis by a coworker who had been through their own divorce and had worked with Kathy Crick. Starting the mediation process for my own divorce felt so overwhelming and daunting but Kathy took the time to speak with me on the phone, answer my questions, and then guided us through the process with professionalism and understanding. Even though the situation was still very difficult, she helped what could have become a stand-off continue to move forward by remaining neutral while offering helpful suggestions when appropriate. I appreciated that during the most difficult parts of meditation Kathy allowed the two of us to decide how we wanted to proceed, even if it meant discontinuing mediation and retaining attorneys to finalize things in court if necessary (which we thankfully never ended up doing). If you are confident that with some reasonable concessions the two of you can successfully agree upon the division of your assets and any applicable parenting arrangements, I highly recommend Genesis. Or if you just need mediation for any dispute resolution issues, I would highly recommend Genesis.
