I called Jeff at McKenzie River Small Motor Repair to see if he could fix the automatic drive on my lawn mower. He said yes, and his schedule was kind of full. Then I called Brad who said he could do it quickly, so I went with Brad. Big mistake. Brad replaced the belt and said that part was working good but the engine wouldn't start and that it needed a new carburetor. I wasn't the last person to use the lawn mower so I honestly didn't know if it could start before I brought it to him or not, so I told him to go ahead and put a new carburetor on. The next day he called me and told me that the engine runs but the drive portion actually wasn't working, and that I should just use the lawn mower without it! By this point I realized I needed to have it repaired somewhere else. So I came to pick up my lawn mower, and even though I wasn't happy I said some encouraging words, gave Brad $25 and I shook his hand. After taking it to a professional we soon realized that there were missing parts and the engine was not working properly. Brad also stripped screws and bent metal out of shape to do his "work". I drove back over to Brad's and confronted him about it and he told me he figured since the drive portion wasn't working I didn't need the parts! How does that make sense?! He did end up returning some of the parts but had misplaced the other ones, and told me to f***k off. Brad runs a shoddy business and wasted my time. He says he tried to offer me a deal but that's because he broke my equipment and couldn't repair it. He also claims to have a business license but I asked to see it and it's expired. He's not listed on the BBB so you will have a hard time holding him accountable if something happens to your your equipment. Brad my advice to you is clean up your act and take yourself and customers seriously. You can trick someone to do business with you but your work speaks for itself and it says you don't care.
